In celebration of the opening of the Clinton Presidential Library, Diamond Bear Brewing Company introduced its seasonal beer, Presidential IPA. This in beer terms is a "big beer" with lots of flavor. This India Pale Ale has a rich copper color and full body which delivers exceptional body, balanced by a high hop rate. This beer has great aroma with generous amounts of cascade hops to stimulate all of the senses. This is truly a beer fit for a head of state!

Bottle thanks to Pawola22. Pours caramel amber. Off white head. Nose/taste of toasted grain, musky pineapple and caramel malt. Lighter bodied.

This is not as strong as a typical IPA but for my first foray into IPA beerdom it was a welcome brew. I really enjoyed the copper tone and the thick hoppy head that stays well.

To me this is a great non mass market IPA. Has a good flavor, aroma and color. Lots of people rate this IPA low but I think most are use to mass market IPAs

UPDATED: JUN 21, 2012 On tap at The Flying Saucer in Little Rock. Pours a clear, deeper golden colored body with an inch thick, dense, creamy and frothy, off-white head that dissipates slowly and leaves a nice lacing. Aroma is slightly spicy earth and grapefruits with a bit of a stale orange and a light grass alongside a medium sweet bready caramel. A slight onion note from the hops with a few florals in there too. Flavor is medium-light sweet caramel with a slight breadiness and a good amount of grassy, slightly earthy grapefruit hops. Some orange notes as well and no onion thankfully. Finishes pretty dry with a few resins, florals, and a medium bitterness with some grapefruit and a lightly spiced earthiness. Lengthy aftertaste following a medium body and a moderate carbonation. Overall, a decent IPA. Fairly dry and bitter with some grapefruit earth and resins alongside a bready caramel malt backing. The aroma gave off a bit of a weird note, but the flavor was better. Not bad.

Poured into a snifter. Golden to amber with a finger of head that held well. A blunt citrus; mostly lemon smell. There is a malty smell lurking in the background but he never really comes out to play. Greeted with a medium bitterness, followed by honey and grapefruit. A balanced, straightforward profile. Crisp, bubbly and medium bodied. This is an easy drinking IPA. When you are looking for a classic IPA to throw back, here it is.

Certainly not a very bitter IPA, but looks and tastes nice. The flavor starts out a bit malty/grassy but gets much better as it goes along. Overall, it’s a pretty good beer.

Bottle gifted by Ratman. Pours lightly hazy dark orange/copper with an average, fizzy/frothy white head, medium retention with fair lacing. Aroma is light cereal, straw, and biscuit malt with heavy earthy, floral, and citrus hops and a light fruity ester nose. Flavor is moderately bitter with herbal and earthy hops and some light malt to balance; light fruity esters are present with a dry finish. Medium body, warmth, and carbonation. Happy IPA day to me!

Bottle courtesy of Emmasdad (thanks Dan) poured a hazy amber with a lasting amber head. Aromas of biscuit earthiness, light pine and light grapefruit zest. Palate was medium bodied and smooth with a dry finish. Flavors of biscuit, earthiness, grapefruit zest and a hint of pine with a smooth dry lingering bitter finish.
