COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A malty-sweet German style lager. This beer is a lager brewed in the classic Marzen/Octoberfest style. Brewed with Munich malt and Saaz hops, this lager is aged cold for superior flavor and smoothness. A pleasant malty sweetness and a smooth finish make this beer very drinkable, a perfect companion for cool autumn evenings.!

Location: 12 oz bottle from Colonial Wine and Spirits, 11/14/11

Aroma: The nose is rather malty, with nuts, bread, caramel, and a little bit of earthiness
Appearance: Pours a clear pale yellow-orange color with a huge white head and heavy lace
Flavor: It tastes rather malty, medium sweet, a little caramel, some roast, nuttiness, and later bitterness
Palate: The body is medium, though a touch watery, with a fairly smooth feel, and a decently dry finish
Overall Impression: Overall, this is a decent beer. There isn’t anything I can necessarily pinpoint as wrong with it, but there isn’t anything especially great about it either. It really is just an alright beer.

Pour is a clear amber with a large white head. Aroma is caramel malts and rpsted nuts. flavor is a littel weaker. Some malts are there but this is pretty thin. Finish leaves some bready malt. Nothing bad to say about this as it was going in the right direction, it’s just a little thin all around.

Draft at GABF, new State! Pours a nice looking deep copper with a fluffy head that lasts. Nose is crisp and fresh, nice bready notes and some spicy noble hops. On taste, much hoppier than anticipated, really nice bitterness that verges toward a dark pilsner. Lots of bready melanoidins and spicy hop flavors. Very decent beer.

Gabf. Clear, golden orange appearance with a foamy, off white head. Pretty bland, sweet caramel malty nose. Nutty, light caramel flavor with a grassy hoppiness.

Malty with a clean almost sterile aroma. Flavor is quite malty. A bit of sweet caramel character, but this is too grassy malty for me.

The beer pours a bright amber-brown with a rocky off-white head. The aroma is mostly caramel with an earthy yeast tone and an herbal hoppiness. The malt has a tasty German character. It’s a bit nutty. It’s mildly sweet with a drying finish and a gentle hop bite. There’s a lot of nice German flavor bouncing around. Easy to drink and fairly refreshing. Mouthfeel is pretty standard. Average carbonation. A bit slick. This is a surprisingly tasty beer, particularly for one that I was mostly looking forward for the state tick. It’s got some nice, authentic German flavor and a nicely balanced tone.
