Draught (5.5%). Dark ruby/amber, almost opaque colour. Huge beige head, which also leaves some lacing. Spicy aroma with hints of hopsand some grassyness. Flavour is spicy with hints of clove. Also hints of grassiness and caramel. A bit oily palate.

Bottled (6.5%). Colour is hazy dark brownish ruby coloured, with a big foamy head. Leaves a lot of lace. Aroma is orange, spices, some slight cinnamon and yeast. Once it gets warmer the cinnamon gets strong. Also clove is present. Flavour is cinnamon and clove with some dry fruity hints. Orange, malts and some slight caramel become present once it warms up a bit. Spices in aftertaste. Xmas beer indeed. Refreshing, and lovely in my opinion. De proef -made beer, only for Finnish market (for the importers Diamond Beer). This will be bought again for Xmas, and maybe even a few bottles for aging.

Bottled (BB 10/2008). Dark muddy brown colour, good steady tan head. Spicey aroma: cloves, cinnamon, also yeast is evident there. Medium-bodied. Very christmasy-spicey: cinnamon and clove. Nice malt profile, just enough spicey and hoppy to make this very drinkable XMas beer. Mild hops in the aftertaste. Not Swaf!-like as 4.5% version.

(Bottled) Very hazy, dark ruby red color with a smallish, but tight and creamy, tanned, lasting and lacy head. Strong aroma of cloves, oranges, and some chocolatey malt. Slightly sour. Orange-spicy, yeasty flavor with smooth, sweetish maltiness and some hops in the background. Dryish ashiness in the finish with hints of orangeish acidity. Medium-bodied, soft palate with smooth carbonation. A bit too spicy, but quite smooth, full and enjoyable brew. Way better than the diluted 4.5% version, and without the ginseng feel. I could actually drink one of these on Xmas eve.

(330ml bottle) Spicy, cinnamon aroma. Brownish, blur appearance with a nice foam. Firm and caramellish aroma which lasts long. Pretty full and good palate with a slighty dry taste. I liked this beer which I get from my friend, hopefully this beer lands in Finland again in the next christmas!

Cellared for a year. Dark reddish brown, lovely firm beige head. Nicely spicy and yeasty nose, christmas, some orange zest, strawberry, wheat and candy sugar. Sweet sugary flavor, balanced spices, liquorice and little hops, wheat and yeast in the herbal finish. Slightly ashy and strongly herbal with yeast poured in. Very round soft palate. A lovely, balanced christmas brew. The year has done good.

Dark brown, near black colored. Medium sized beige head. Licorice, chocolate, spiciness with cinnamon in aroma, some berry tones also there. Medium bodied. Flavor is more vinous with obvious licorice and again this cinnamon spiciness. Aftertaste is somehow sour with cripy palate, licorice and yeast.

UPDATED: SEP 13, 2007 Bottled. Extremely compact and adherent head, optimal resistance and total duration. "Dirty" brown color, hazy and with light fizz. Unusual and complex aroma; notes of cinnamon, spices, nutmeg, withered flowers and clear mildew. Dry fruity taste, smooth carbonation. Thanks to mabjork for this beer.

33cl bottle, thanks Fatphil-Dark brown with red tinges. Fruity spicy aroma with a hint of raisins. The cinnamon is not particularly evident in the taste of the beer but there is a mild spiciness. Drinkable and another good beer from Proef!

Beautiful beer: dark red-brown colour and dence beige head. In the aroma there is little bitterness, liitle sweetnees, roasted malts and some spicys. Flavour is little bitter, there are some sweetness and spicys. Soft beer with nice carbonation and some biting spicys makes this nice beer. Not earth-shaking beer but I drink this and enjoy.
