Is a beautiful deep amber/brown in color, reminiscent of the most noblest of not only American, but also Bristish Browns. The complex malty flavor comes from the 6 distinct grains that make up the grain bill. Add a Willamette hop finish, and you get a brew that compliments any occasion.

22 ounce bottle - $4.99 at Total Wine & More in Kennesaw, Georgia. Appearance: Pours a hazed, relatively dark brown body with a modestly-sized, suds, off-white head. Smell: Notes of spicy-scented dried herbs and a slim helping of slices of apricot overlayed with scents of toasted grains and roasted nuts. Taste: Roasty, toasty, charred nut maltiness, but not particularly complex. Very small, lightly sweet hint of brown sugar along with a tangy apricot fruitiness on the front end. Hops providing an earthy black pepper-like spiciness and backing of dried herbs and a noted bitterness. Drying, spicy, earthy finish. Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Medium carbonation. Drinkability: Simple and reasonably satisfactory as far as brown ales go, though, by no means a home run for me, as there is a whole host of browns I’d reach for over this.

Smells kind of soapy; not so good. The flavor is very simple. A bit of malt body, very smooth. N0t complex, but a tasty dinner beer.

Clear, darkish brown with a thin white head. Aroma is nutty with a bit of caramel... nothing extreme. Taste is the same, with a strong bitterness into the finish. $6/22oz

Pours a clear dark brownish red with a thin head and slight lace. Head dissipates to a thin haze over the top of the beer. Smells a tad roasty with big oats and potatoes. Some slight metallic smells. Taste has some caramel on the front, with a toasty midpalate and a burnt flavor on the back of the tongue. No hop flavor, but a slight bitterness at the end. Almost a garlic/onion flavor. I’m guessing DMS.

Couleur ambre, mousse beige.

2010-07-01. Crisp brown body, modest beige head. 3+ Flavour is milder and more dilute than expected. Malt is nice at first but finishes grainy rather than toasty brown ale character one might expect. Modest aroma, touches of a nice caramel character over a tangy grainy malt profile. Average palate. Bit odd. On tap at Diamond Knot, Mukilteo

[3053-20100701] Tap. Mild grains aroma. Clear, cola amber body with a quick foamy off-white head. Little roasty bread malt flavour. Medium-full body. Drinkable but nothing wowy.
