Draught at the brewpub, 6.1% ABV Dark amber color. Light aroma of caramel. Good body strength; quite good caramel flavor, correct bitterness. Not complex, but fine ESB.

Nice english style bitter that had a good malt balance and nice mouthfeel although it may have been a little carbonated and not totally my thing.

Clear caramel color/ lasting white head; nice lacing. Toasted, spicy caramel aromas with a whiff of pit fruit. Smooth medium body. Spicy sweet toasted caramel, marshmallow, grainy malt flavors--good.
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 MartinT (6934) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - MAR 2, 2011
My Bottom Line:
Toasted malts and their caramelized counterparts are bothered by dusty minerals before bitter hop resins conclude an otherwise drinkable Extra Special Bitter.
Further Personal Perceptions:
-A veil of foam tops the hazy dark amber, lacing well.
-That dusty impression, present in all of their brews that day, was akin to hard tap water.
-The flavor profile was a tad too generic to be memorable.
-This remains balanced throughout.
On tap at the Front St. brewpub

Tap at the brewpub. Pours ruddy amber with a creamy beige head. Floral aroma over a caramel backdrop. Med body. Nice mild roast caramel backbone with a lot of earthy/flroal hop. Died and gone to England.
2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 jercraigs (6477) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - JUL 17, 2010
2010-07-01. Crisp golden amber body with a small off-white head and lace. 3+ Flavour is mild, pleasant light bitterness throughout, hints at citrus in the finish but a vegetal hop character spoils the effect. Aroma is mild, grainy malt, brief caramel and mild hops. Average palate, on the light side. Meh. On tap at Diamond Knot, Mukilteo

[3052-20100701] Tap. Toasted malt aroma has a hint of maple. Clear, orange amber body with a medium-lasting foamy off-white head and some lacing. Toasted bread malt flavour is fairly grainy. Medium body. Good, could stand even more malt.

Typical esb flavor but much more rounded and more tasty. Light caramel color with a very nice, balanced bitter note. A little lighter body than I prefer but definitely a good esb.
