2010-07-01. Dark yellow body with a small white head. First impression is not good. Rough grainy grassy character, modest bitterness. Aroma is similar, rough grainy grass, wheat, hints of oxidation? Off/oxidized or just not good, I don’t know. Average to thin bodied palate. Not for me. On tap at Diamond Knot, Mukilteo

Nice golden ale. Aroma is light and sweet with the faintest touch of citrus. Pours gold with a thin head. Light pale malt sweetness initially with a really nice citrus/floral hoppy finish. A hoppy golden ale. Enjoyable.

On draught at the brewpub in Mukilteo, Washington. Pours a clear golden pale blonde brew with a fast dissolving white head that dissipates to a thin white ring and some spotty lacing. Aroma of golden grain malt, some wheat bread, a touch of corn meal and citrus zest. Taste is light bodied, some carbonation and with a more grainy malt flavor compared to the summer blonde ale. Finish is light, crisp with a nice balance of malt and citrus hop aftertaste flavors.

Draft at the High Life in Seattle.

Pours a light sandy gold, white head. Crisp, cracker grains, very nice snap of metallic hop bitterness in the close. No sweet malts pander to the tastebuds, by no means does it take the strategy of hopping at pale ale levels either. It’s just a good golden ale. I I picked this one up after a long summer’s day hiking, and it really hit the spot. Very nice. I’m pleased to see west-coast breweries experimenting with the style. Low gravity ales: the next frontier!

draft @ brewery - pure gold and crystal clear; as with all their brews, this had a somewhat thick head and lots of lacing; drinks grainy and smooth with some minor sweetness and spice; medium body with a nice finish; decent for the style
