omhper (10728), Stockholm, Sweden Feb 22, 2006 Updated: Mar 31, 2006Draught at the brewpub. Clear deep golden. Lightly citric nose. Sweet and malty with rounded mouthfeel. A refreshing easy drinking beer with some character of its own. It works for me. Ibrew2or3 (1757), Safety Harbor, Florida, USA Nov 3, 2007 On tap at the brewpub. Pours as the name suggests, a clear deep golden color with bright white head. The aroma is pale malts mixed with a grainy breadiness. I’m not sure if it is to style but it smells good. The taste is much like the aroma with pale and grainy malts mixed with a pulse of sweeter malts. There’s a mild spice hoppiness in there too. It ends a bit thin and watery. SuzyGreenberg (1028), Seattle, Washington, USA May 16, 2008 draft @ brewery - pure gold and crystal clear; as with all their brews, this had a somewhat thick head and lots of lacing; drinks grainy and smooth with some minor sweetness and spice; medium body with a nice finish; decent for the style Old_Mr_Crow (1038), Seattle, Washington, USA Aug 11, 2008 Draft at the High Life in Seattle.
Pours a light sandy gold, white head. Crisp, cracker grains, very nice snap of metallic hop bitterness in the close. No sweet malts pander to the tastebuds, by no means does it take the strategy of hopping at pale ale levels either. It’s just a good golden ale. I I picked this one up after a long summer’s day hiking, and it really hit the spot. Very nice. I’m pleased to see west-coast breweries experimenting with the style. Low gravity ales: the next frontier! JorisPPattyn (4490), Antwerpen, Belgium Apr 18, 2006 Draught Grainy-golden colour, light olive shine; no head. Light, again very freshly greenery smelling; touch of hops and lime. Like it. Good lemony hops and just enough pale malts to make it slightly sweet and not empty. OK, light body to style. So some of them CAN actually brew light ales.
