COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Diamond Knot Hefe-Weizen is golden in color with a cloudy appearance, which is what makes this style so easily recognized. Our Hefe-Weizen, which is more of a Bavarian style beer, is very lightly hopped to let it's "True-to-Style" flavors come from the yeast and malts. Diamond Knot Hefe-Weizen features: 2 Row Pale malt Wheat Galena Hops for bittering Hallertauer Hops for finish Weihenstephan Yeast.

Drawn off the top of the keg, which they assure me makes for the yeastiest imaginable brew. It definitely seems that way. It looks more like a milkshake than anything related to beer. More hefe than weizen on the palate, too, along with wheaty tartness, phenols and banana notes. Big-bodied and complex, with a spicy finish. Beats the previous record for opaqueness, held by Uzbekistan’s Gambrinus Nefiltrovane.

Tap. First pint from a new keg. Hefe kegs are stored upside down so this on is a surprising cloudy beige which also looks like the picture on line. Light scent. Flavour is much cleaner than expected. Yeasty, light lemon, refreshing.

Tap at the brewpub. Pours very hazy and dirty gold, but not quite so dirty as the picture. Banana and clove aroma. Flavor is the same. That’s it. A very good hefe.

2010-07-01. Murky dark pastel yellow with a small white head and light lace. 3+ Flavour is mild overall but finishes sharp, wheaty bits, touch of yeast and a bit of bitterness. Hit of citrus in the finish. 6+ Aroma of yeast and wheat is mild. Average palate. Ok. On tap at Diamond Knot, Mukilteo

tap. pours a hazy dirty creamsicle yellow. milky, creamy, lemon wheat notes. could be partially from the lemon the gf squirted into it, which came on the glass. also some toasted hay, cream of wheat, and corn notes to round things out. not bad!

Cloudy banana haze appearance that bespeaks a German Hefe. Unbalanced sour banana phenolics in aroma and flavor. Unripe banana and some chemicaliness detracts mightily from drinkability. Decent wheat backbone.

10/4/08 On draught at the Mukilteo brewpub. Aroma is clovey with distinct sulphur and banana character. Appearance is hazy yellow with a fluffy thick white head. Flavor is bready sour with a light acidity that is somewhat distracting. Mouthfeel is moderate bodied with a spritzy carb texture. Overall, quite good and very easy drinking, but feels a little thin and excess sulphur is not offensive but disconcerning.
