The aroma is malty and roasted with paper and grain husks. The appearance is red brown with a smaller head. The palate is average. Overall a really disappointing beer. Not even so so.

22 oz. from Chuck’s. Dark brown. Smells like caramel and looks as expected. Has a weird aftertaste that really makes the beer tougher to drink. Tastes like morning breath. Everything else is pretty good though.

Arayaga2 (1623) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - OCT 18, 2011
Dark brown with a dense tan head. Aroma is pine and pineapple, with some caramel and dark fruits. Taste is a bit like a Jamaican rum cake, with rich dark chocolatey notes, fruit and booze, and it finishes with bitter astringency tempered by roast. $5/22oz

Bottle shared by CaptainCougar. Clearer copper orange with a thin whie head. Leather, oranges, and light spices in the aroma. Light spiciness continues into the flavor with nutmeg and a dry toffee finish. Not bad.

Yeast, spices, resin, and powdered sugar are what I smell. Dark sepia, clear, with minimal off white head. Fizzy and fragrant in the mouths, Where’d these hops come from? The spices with the dark & fruity malt don’t quite match up with the strong resin-bitter hops and alcohol. My tasters could use a little moicy, but my glass is still half full.
