A lightly hazy chestnut color with off white head. Aroma of sweet caramel malts, and light alcohol. Taste of sweet caramel, dried fruits with light molasses, and a alcohol finish.

Mar 9, 2008 snifter @ beverage place barleywine bacchanal - 2006 vintage; cloudy and light orange, so it stood out on my tray; grainy aromas with obvious alcohol; medium body and becomes more creamy; a little bitter and uneven at first, but improves; lots of lacing; slight burn going down but pretty darn tasty

Feb 28, 2008 Good coppery looks. Caramel aromas. Balanced body and structured well. Mouthfeel is low on the carbonation, slick and thick. A BW that could be matched with hearty foods.

Feb 14, 2008 Hand-bottle thanks to bitbucket: Pours a transparent copper amber with spotty-lacing off-white head. Aroma of sweet caramely malt and some fresh grapefruity hoppy notes. Body starts rich and caramely sweet with some toffee flavor and good bittering hoppy presence with a touch of light fruity notes. Nicely-balanced and fairly complex, a nice barleywine.

Jan 25, 2008 Thanks to TomDecapolis for sharing this 12oz hand bottled sample. Poured a medium and lightly hazy amber color with a small sized off white head. Aromas of caramel, toffee, citrus, dark fruits, and earhty. Tastes of caramel, citrus, dark fruits, and a little nutty.
