An excellent barleywine. It blends the mean hoppiness of a younger barleywine, with the smoothness of a mature barley. For a younger, unaged barleywine, this is an outstanding offering.

Oct 10, 2008 Notes were not the best so I will have to re-rate at some point. Damn! Nice sweet caramel aromas, some earthy hops, and some darker malts too. Flavor is some good sweetness in the form of caramel and chocolate, peppery/piney hops round out the finish.

Sep 30, 2008 on tap at the brewpub in mukilteo. amber-orange pour with thin white head. aroma of sweet cherry and caramel. taste was sweet malt, honey, toffee. had some nice warmth to it. sticky texture. K-7

Sep 7, 2008 Clear ruby body with a whispy white lacy head. Big fruity malt sweetness with a caramel and molasses and fig. Alcohol is very evident.

Apr 14, 2008 A lightly hazy chestnut color with off white head. Aroma of sweet caramel malts, and light alcohol. Taste of sweet caramel, dried fruits with light molasses, and a alcohol finish.

Mar 9, 2008 snifter @ beverage place barleywine bacchanal - 2006 vintage; cloudy and light orange, so it stood out on my tray; grainy aromas with obvious alcohol; medium body and becomes more creamy; a little bitter and uneven at first, but improves; lots of lacing; slight burn going down but pretty darn tasty
