3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20 GT2 (3972) - USA - JUN 17, 2010
2oz courtesy of OldMrCrow. Pours a slightly hazy, dirty orange with a towering bright white head that has excellent retention and leaves some very good sticky lace around the glass. Aroma is lemon, the slightest amount of that malt vinegar, old strawberry cheesecake, old candy aroma from stale hop acids. Taste is very nutty, lots of Brazil nut, walnut, a little metallic, coppery, tinny. Goes very dry and soapy in the finish. Not bad.

Out of a bomber and into a big glass this stuff is simply beautiful, in looks. Thick rocky foamy head that builds even with the gentlist of pour. This head never fades and you must drink thru it. What else can be said about the flavors? Well, what else but big brutal IPA smacking you up the face. Experts can tell between fresh and old but all I feel and taste with this style is bitter Knasty Knellie. Co2 does make it enjoyable, nothing worser than an on style flat ipa. Yesh, that sizzling makes it grow on me. Finish is long bitter chewing on green grapefruit rines getting into the back of yer throat. Yes, quite on style with the flavor. Every time I think ipa is starting to grow on me, I get slammed back to reality with an on style example. Slapyou in the face, knock you in the head, kicks you in the ass.
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 PhillyCraft (641) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - MAY 20, 2012
Bottle, pours a hazy copper color with massive head that resembles lemon merange, clearish bubbles, medium lacing. Aromas of bitter spicy hops, lemon peel, pine, honey, and rust. Tast is worse then smell with mostly bitter and spicy hops, hay, pepper, light malts, mettalic funk. Alright ipa, not the best by any means but under 4 bucks for a bomber? Count me in.
3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 MadRobin (177) - Silver Spring, USA - MAY 3, 2012
Poured from 22 oz. bottle.
Bottle erupted with foam upon opening. After allowing it to settle, it pours it clear, but slightly hazy, sparkling straw amber with the expected huge billowing head and excellent lacing.
Subdued aroma of bread, dust, herbs, citrus and a little funkiness. Some unpleasant funky notes.
Taste of bitter, somewhat astringent citrus hops--grapefruit, tangerine and bitter orange. Any malt stays deep in the background.
Medium body and above average carbonation with a foamy mouthfeel.

light copper almost blonde brew with an annoyingly berserk head and an endearing whirlpool of carbonation in the glass. some plastic and malt with a pleasant upfront sweetness in red fruit punch that morphs to a tropical flavor and then a steadily encroaching bitter dead ivy finish. a bit more bitter plastic with a farina wheat flavor from time to time. a slick substantial enough and moderate body. interestingly demonstrative.
2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 Foxbush (761) - Richmond, Virginia, USA - MAR 31, 2012
Bomber from Total Wine and More, The ale poured an excessive head an insane head. It filled the glass with white frothy foam that laced and stayed with the ale. The cloudy copper ale was sweet to the taste with a surprising lack of bitterness for an IPA. I have had APAs that have had more IPA characteristics than this attempt. The carbonation was lively and the finish was sweet. Not the ale I hoping for, diappointing.

Bomber. Huge foamy head that continued to build... very unsettling in terms of confidence in the beer / batch. Cloudy light amber, aroma is mild, finish is sharp and carbonation is quite high. Decent IPA -- I would like to try again to see if this was old or an off batch.
3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 hombrepalo (1401) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - MAR 2, 2012
22oz bottle from a BA trade. A bit of a let down after tasting the Fat Tugs right before this. Pours hazy brownish copper with soapy white head. Aroma is earthy hops, citrus, caramel, and some malt. Flavor is grassy and earthy hops, caramel, and some pale malts. Light bitterness for west coast IPA. Mouthfeel is a little thin. Lots of earthy flavors. Really lacking the hop bitterness that would make this good IPA.

from erzbierschof.ch - slightly hazy orange beer with a poor head retention; solid piney aroma with notes of tea; medium-bodied and with a tart and solid bitterness; gently sticky and with a long bitter finish of tea and more resiney hoppy notes
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 curly (2352) - Seattle (Newcastle), Washington, USA - FEB 15, 2012
Bomber pours with a massively, insane, constantly building, absurdly enormous, problematic beige head, which made be a bit nervous. 20 minutes later, I could actually smell the beer after the head faded- lemon, malt, fruit. Taste of bitter herb and lemon. Not as bad as expected, not sure if this was just old or what...... Another bottle, seems more fresh but I just don’t think this is a very good beer honestly. Aroma of malt, very crackery, light citrus. Taste has some citrus and light pine bitterness, but very lacking for a good IPA. Looks like my next step is to go to the brewery and try it there.
