Essentially, the same recipe as the IPA, but with approximately 25% more grain and 3 1/2 times the hops! 75 IBUís, 100% Columbus Hops.

Draft at brewery in Muklilteo, WA. Pour is amber orange almost clear with a smaller off white head. Aroma of not all that much - some hops, and a sweetness that wasnít in the IPA. Taste is hoppy, though muted compared to the Diamond Knot IPA. The sweetness also comes across in the taste, along with some nuttiness. The finish is a little bit flat, was expecting a bit more bitterness at the end. Nice, but not exceptional.

Thanks to TomDecapolis for sharing this hand bottled sample. Poured a medium orangish color with a small sized off white head. Aromas of caramel, light pine, earthy, and citrus. Tastes of pine, earthy, and caramel.

Poured a lightly hazy, dark golden color with a small, white head that left light lacing on the glass. Aroma of earthy yeast, light pine, sweet toffee, citrus, toast, and floral hops. Taste of sweeter toffee, citrus fruits, light pine, some caramel, and a lightly bitter, grapefruit finish. Not much different than the IPA, a little underwhelming.

Thanks to bitbucket for the trade of the hand bottled Industrial IPA. Pours a lightly hazy golden amber with a medium creamy/bubbly off white head. Aroma of caramel malt, light alcohol, grapefruit, toffee, some earthiness, yeast and a cereal graininess. Flavor of cereal grains, hop bitterness, grapefruit, pine, toffee...bitterness kind of lingers.

On tap at the brewery on 03-29-05. Clear amber color with a decent head that leaves a nice lacing. Medium intense floral hop and sweet malt aromas. Has a medium-full body with a smooth mouthfeel. Strong malt sweet bread taste battles it out with an intense bitter grapefruit hop flavor in my mouth. A very well rounded brew here with intense malt and hop flavors.

Hand bottled 22oz.. Poured a hazed amber color with an off-white head. The aroma mixed well with hops and caramel. Citrus hops start and a piney very long moderately bitter finish. Some floral hop pops out with warmth. Malt is there to give a backbone. Medium bodied.

Small white head, retention is fair with nice coating lace. Lightly hazy, deep copper/orange color. Nose is spicey, hoppy with citrus and fruit, fairly pungent. Body is medium, a touch oily, chewy, malty graininess, carbonation a tad low. Plenty of citrusy hop flavors, a bit orangey, grapefruity, lightly earthy and a nicely balanced out maltiness. Lightly resiny, some bubblegum? Finishes dry, clean lingering hop bitterness that i like. Hand bottled bomber courtesy of bitbucket. Thanks Bob!

Hand bottle shared by Slob. Pour was amber-orange, good initial head, although it subsided quickly, but laced quite well. The aroma was bitter grassy, earthy, even herbal. The flavor followed the aroma and included some faint caramel and orangey notes. Mouthfeel was only moderately bodied, maybe a little past its prime, yet still a darned bitter and good IPA. Thank you, Bert!

On tap at the brewpub. Pours a clear bright amber with a thin but persistent white head. Fruit and grapefruit in the nose. Medium body, light carbonation. THe taste starts sweet with tangerine giving way to grapefruit and eventually grapefruit rind and pine. Very similar to their regular IPA, but with more of everything except water.

On tap @ the Diamond Knot brewpub. This one has been a long time favorite of mine that I finally get a chance to sit down and rate it. It pours a clear deep gold with copper core and long lasting ring of white foam. The aroma is light with mild sweet grapefruit hops and syrupy lightly roasted malts. The taste starts off chewy with rich lightly roasted malts. Some sweet late addition grapefruit hoppiness wells up creating a mild sweet orange juice sensation. That doesnít last long as the grapefruit hop bitterness builds into the finish. Very smooth hoppy beer that is dangerously drinkable. Neither a hop bomb or a malt bomb but manages to stay pretty well balanced with a lean toward hops. A must try if you are in the area.
