Draft at the alehouse in mukateo. Nice bronze color. Piney hop aroma. Taste is like a dozen other iipas, but done very well. Nice example of an Imperial done right.

Bottle pour. Hazy dark golden with small off white head. Aroma is mostly hoppy, but has light grassy and caramel. Medium body. Grass, earthy, and strong hop taste with a good bitter aftertaste.

Tap at World Craft Beer Tasting 2014. Balanced sort of nose, with caramel quite apparent. and small hopping behind. Amber/copper color. Initial is much as the aroma, balanced, solid caramel backbone. Piney hopping steps up in mid palate. Medium strength hops in final. Has nice hop jump. Not over the top. Pleasant.

Bottle. Pours a clear amber color with a medium beige head. Nose is pine/resin, caramel, citrus. Flavor is sweet up front and finishes bitter, follows the nose. Solid, I enjoyed this one, but it wasn’t as malty as other DIPAs I’ve tasted.

On tap at the GJBF in Osaka 2014. A clear deep copper color. It has a somewhat musty resinous hoppy pungent nose. Well balanced though bitter and while not complex it is satisfying as all hell .

On tap @ Malarkey’s. Pours dark golden amber with medium-thin white head. Aroma is mild caramel malt and thin floral hops. Taste is sweet lightly syrupy dark caramel malt and piney bitter hops. Very malt forward DIPA with lingering bitter finish. Not bad, and one you can usually find cheap and easily in the PNW. Could use more flavor from the hops though.

Bottle, brought back from the Xmas road trip. Pours a nice caramel color topped with a monster beige head. Lots of sticky lacing follows a lumpy finger to the bottom of the glass. Nose is good, a sweet and piney blend. Good caramel malts and citrus balance the florals. Overall quite easy to drink, but potent. Good stuff.

Lagerboy (1443) - British Columbia, CANADA - FEB 9, 2014
Bomber. Unclear lighter orange copper, impressive creamy rocky off-white head mutes aroma of herbal spicy hops. Herbal coniferous spicy floral hop forward taste, firm sweet caramel malts, some citrus. Livelier carbonation, medium bodied, more aggressively hopped. Solid brew, but a bit tame for an Impy, which makes it: LBW (Lagerboys Be Wary)
