Pours a clear amber with pillowy cream head. Aroma is grapefruit and citrus hops with a slightly biscuity malt. Taste is vibrantly bitter with loads of grapefruit, ample malt to balance it out though. Finish is exceedingly balanced with a good lingering hop bite. Excellent.

On tap at the brewery on 03-29-05. Clear amber color with a decent head that leaves a nice lacing. Medium intense floral hop and sweet malt aromas. Has a medium-full body with a smooth mouthfeel. Strong malt sweet bread taste battles it out with an intense bitter grapefruit hop flavor in my mouth. A very well rounded brew here with intense malt and hop flavors.

22oz bottle from riversideak via Mys Swap 4 (big thanks!). Pours a clear copper with a medium head. Nose is toffee and earthy. Taste is quite unique.Starts with some sweeet toffee, nuttiness almost chocolate coming through, then some pine, hazlenut, earthy hops and a little pineapple. FInish is fairly dry, carbonation is moderate. Easy to drink and quite tasty for an IIPA.

One of those beers that brings so much to the table and takes nothing away. Classic Northwest-style IPA. This is a beer with hair on its chest. My first DK beer and hopefully not me last.

4.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 mpersinger (311) - , California, USA - DEC 11, 2011
INdustrial pours golden with auborn hue from hand-delivered bomber, thanks to famed beer book author kmweaver. This one’s clear, until you drain it into the glass (not filtered?) and the modest white head softens but remains . The aroma is punctuated by piney hops and carmel malt goodness, with added dimension of mineral note as beer warms. Flavor dominated by tropical mango and resiny notes. Medium-bodied with an emphatic lush bitterness that is welcome on the tongue.

4.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20 erickok (2282) - Tours, FRANCE - FEB 20, 2012
Light cloudy orange body with small fizzy white head. Mandarin, cotton candy, grass and basement. Fierce yet very pleasant bitterness dominating the palate. Medium carbonation raises the bitter feeling further. Very much to my taste I have to say. Bottle isn’t dated, as far as I can see. (65cl bottle, expensive)

Aroma is a nice collection of citrus, hops, pines, honey, caramel and grapefruit. Appearance is a darkened amber color with a medium foam head. Taste is strong malt and hops with a subtle citrus background. Finish has a pleasing leaf and spice filled bitternesss. Overall all the flavors come together very nicely. Nicely balanced ingrediants with a pleasing bitterness. I’d give this a B+ rating.

Aroma is grapefruit and spice with some grass, pine and hay. lacing lingered all the way to the bottom. definitely columbus hops! Taste was hop at beginning moving to nice malt character with grapefruit forward, slcohol hidden i felt. Nice mouthfeel, some stickiness on palate. Nothing too unusual about it but an overall solid beer. Had to try something new. would buy again.
