COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
We took the mash from our rich and unique Ice Breaker Barley Wine, and reprocessed the malts through the mash tun a second time. We then changed the hops to Willamettes, and fermented and processed with the usual Diamond Knot methods. The result is wonderfully light, and refreshing micro brew beer that is perfect for a hot day, or a long night.

Golden body with minimal white head. Lighter version of the golden ale and thinner. Slightly sweet on the finish.

Draft at the brewpub. Only one flaw, but, alas, what a flaw. Lovely hazy medium amber with a thin grayish head. Big buttery nose. Not really much else. Medium, creamy body, soft carb. Restrained mid-palate consisting mainly of butter. Mild light brown bread notes in there as well, with some slight grass flavors, and then...butter. The recipe seems promising, and the beer looks and feels great. And the diacetyl problems are NOT widespread at DK. I am thinking they just racked the clear beer off too soon with this batch. Clean finish.

On tap at the brewpub. It pours with a slight haze and seems pale gold with thin white head. The aroma is mild with pale malts, faint breadiness and some malt sweetness. The flavor is full and bold for a light weight beer. I get fresh pale malts and very mild breadiness. The flavor becomes mildly hoppy with a vague bitterness. The mild bitterness and pale malts ride out onto the after taste. It ends pretty thin. Very nice session brew.

Draught Fully light golden; no head. Fresh vegetable-grassy, touch of lemon and yeast, also slightly sweet-smelling. Sweet, lots of unfermented malts, ending with a honey flavour. Not really light - too much restsugars. Deliberaty aimed at light beer, but OK generally speaking.

UPDATED: MAR 31, 2006 Draught at the brewpub. Pale golden. Heavily buttery with grassy notes. Light bodied and fairly sweet with rounded mouthfeel. Buttery finish.

On Tap at DK Very pale amber with a slight white head and wisps of lacing. Very light grain aroma and slight hop note. Flavor was a very pale grain, abit of cereal and paper, swetened with honey. Papery aftertaste and slightly sweet all around. A very clean light feel, a bit wattery perhaps witha rather lively carbonation.

I'm a big fan of Anchor Small Beer, and I liked this one as well. Yellow, like Pee (well, sorry, thats what it looks like) Citrus nose and flavor and very light on the tongue. Very refreshing.

It’s small beer, all right. Very pale. Faint biscuity aroma, light body. Vaguely hop accented. Seems wheaty, though apparently that’s not the case.

Nutty, malty, worty aroma. Little hops aroma. Yeast aroma and flavor throughout. Astrigent and slightly sour finish. Golden in color decent head with OK lacing.
