On tap at the brewpub. Pours a deep brown, mostly black colored body with a finger-width, creamy, light brown head that dissipates slowly and leaves a nice lacing. Aroma is light roasts and chocolate with hints of caramel and earth. Flavor has a bit more dark chocolate and a moderate, balanced roast. Touches of caramel and a light earthiness towards the end as the chocolate comes out a bit more and this finishes dry, somewhat roasty, and lightly bitter with a nice chocolate note. Lengthy aftertaste following a medium body and a soft, moderate carbonation. Overall, nothing special, but a pretty tasty, quaffable porter. Nice beer to go with the peanuts I can throw on the floor.

Draught at the brewpub
Dark brown color, almost black, with beige head. Light aroma of roasted malts. Good structure, with pleasant flavor of dark chocolate and roasted malts (just a bit too roasty for me), at least not too dry; correct bitterness.
Leaning a bit near Stouts, but quite good.

Roasted malts on the nose, light patent notes, hints of chocolate. Lightly sweet. Pours dark brown, more or less black with a thin beige head. Roasted malts throughout, some chocolate, hints of sweetness, a little burnt. Light bitterness in the finish. Well balanced, well done house porter.

Tap at the brewpub. Aromas of burnt malt and coffee. Poured black with a creamy beige head. flavor is burnt malt and omlight coffee. Might be a touch of chocolate. Hop? Seems so. It is finishing nicely bitter.

2010-07-01. Very dark brown body, modest tan head and nice lace. 4+ Flavour has a pleasant but muted sweet malt core, dry roast gains bitterness and coffee grounds character as you go on, which adds to the flavour but is not to my tastes. Roasty aroma has dry coffee undertones, briefest hint of mocha. Average palate is ok but thin for the style. Pretty decent porter. On tap at Diamond Knot, Mukilteo

[3054-20100701] Tap. Light roast aroma has a hint of raspberry and mild smoky grains. Clear, dark brown body with a medium-lasting creamy light tan head. Full body is a little boozy. Solid, good.

Draft, Beveridge Place. Deep black pour with an inch of dense light tan head. Leaves some lovely lace along the glass. Aroma is roasty with slightly acidic coffee. Upon sipping it, a lot of charred, burnt notes come through, but not overwhelmingly so. More bitter than sweet, ends a little resinous and with bitter coffee. Moderate body, quite easy to drink.
