On-draft at DK on the pier. A light roasty and dark character, this porter also displays a slight tinny and metallic aftertaste. Finishes fairly dry with faint hints of dark chocolate and light coffee with an off mineral flavor in the finish. I get absolutely no hop aroma from this one which contradicts the brewery’s description. Otherwise superb flavor profile, however it could use a bit more of everything (alcohol, gravity, malt, roast, hops) and the metallic finish is a concern.

Being fairly novice at beer tasting but a coffee roaster and cupper, I’m fairly impressed with the malt tones similar to molasses in the immediate finish of the beer. It has an smooth finish and what I’d call a medium body. Definitely the best beer from Diamond Knot imho.

Dark and creamy looking. Nice aroma of biscuit malt and a bit of sweetness. Medium body although feels a tad thin. But overall taste is very nice.

On draft at brewery. Pours dark brown, tan head with great lacing. Wonderful roasted nut aroma. Taste was a bit sweet, but medium body goes down easily.

Tap at Lincoln Ave; nice balance between the bitterness and malt; they use Galena and Williamette hops in this one; pours black with tones of red; tasty. (#28)

Good color, clarity with great aroma. Huge chocolate and coffee flavors. The malts and spices added where awesome. I loved drinking this beer. One of the better porters out there.

On draught at the brewpub in Mukilteo, Washington. Pours an opaque dark brown brew with a creamy off-white head that quickly dissipates to a fine film and thin off-white ring. Aroma of roasted dark malts, some chocolate, ice tea, and a touch of coffee. Taste is medium bodied, very light carbonated with a more toasted dark malt, some floral hops, chocolate and some earthy herbs. Finish has a mild bitterness with a semi-dry toasted dark malt aftertaste.
