Dark brown with a creamy notro head, aroma deferred a bit by the nitro. Full roasted malt and caramel flavour with a ting of hops.

On Nitro Tap at the brewpub. Dark brown but clear and dense cramy light tan head, thanks to the nitrogen. Wisps of sheeting lacing as I swirled the glass a bit. Moderate dark roasted flavors and a rich smooth feel. A nice offering.

(Nitro Draft: Diamond Knot Brewery & Alehouse in Mukilteo, WA) Also on nitro, it pours a very dark brown color, with ruddy, mahogany highlights at the edges. The tan head is tall, creamy, thick and dense. Looks fantastic! And as usual, the nitro makes for a very creamy and smooth mouthfeel, but takes away the spunk from the flavor. It’s moderately roasty, lightly bitter, but somewhat sweet and wow, the finish is very chocolaty and delicious. Seems the nitro is emphasizing the chocolate finish, so nitro seems to fit this beer. The nose is lightly roasty and slightly more chocolaty, but overall, is only mildly aromatic. The head never really subsides, so retention is fantastic, and as expected, dense, thick foam coats the glass. Would like to try this on standard draft, but it’s pretty solid on nitro.

On tap at brewpub. Dark black color Small sized beige creamy head. Strong lacing. Aroma is chocolate and roasted malt. A medium bodied porter. Malts are chocolate and a touch coffee. Slighlty citrusy hops. Nice balance. Smooth taste. Nice porter, roasty malts yet not overly bitter. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and crisp. Aftertaste is slightly bitter.
