On tap at Diamond Knot alehouse in Mukilteo on 5/3. Pours a hazy tannish copper color with a thin white head that leaves spotty lacing. Smells of pine, oak, and toffee. Tastes of all the same thing’s with a slight bourbon flavor as well. Mouthfeel is thick and oily with a dry finish. This is one of the beers I always try to have when its available when I go to Diamond Knot. Unique flavoring for an ipa but very tasty.

Draft at the 2006 Washington Cask Beer Festival. Remember this being a standout through many that evening. Light elements of port buried underneath bits of citrusy hops. Thick and dank.

Bomber pours clear deep gold with three inch near rocky off white head, uh oh. The aroma is sort of dusty with a bit of yeast as well as spicy hops and vague bitterness, soapy notes and almost a spicy wood sensation. The taste is similar with bitterness and sharp spiciness and also soapy notes mixing with acidity. It seems the condition of this bottle isn’t pristine. I hate the way these big box bottle shops store all the IPA and Pales at room temperature and bathed in UV lighting (purchased at Total Wine in Tempe). Need to re-rate a fresh bottle from a better bottle shop.
