SuzyGreenberg (799), Seattle, Washington, USA May 16, 2008 draft @ brewery - nitro tap i think, so will ahve to try this again down the road; jet black with thick, tan head; drinks creamy and smooth but with little flavor profile; slight roast to it, but not much else
bitbucket (1477), Kirkland, Washington, USA Dec 12, 2007 On tap at the brewpub. Pours opaque blackish brown with a thin tan head. Lightly sweet coffee nose. Light body and minimal carbonation. Mostly coffee in the taste but some chocolate sneaks in there. This does remind me of Dublin more than a little. Ibrew2or3 (1613), Safety Harbor, Florida, USA Nov 5, 2007 On tap at the brewpub. It pours very dark with long lasting mocha head and thick sheet lacing. I had to sip this one before checking the aroma because it overcame my will. I wasn’t expecting the onslaught of creamy smooth maltiness this beer dished out. I get burnt malts that turn very roasty for a while before a deep dark chocolate not takes over. As the chocolate hits so does a mild sweetness with faint vanilla and licorice. The flavor notes at this point play against each other nicely. Then a mild malt astringency is noticed too. It is a bit thin but an exceptional session offering. The aroma is mildly roasty, burnt and chocolaty. jcwattsrugger (3757), Florida and, New Jersey, USA Nov 5, 2007 on nitro-pours a retaining tan head with loots of lacing and black color. Aroma is dark malt. Taste is dark malt, dry, faint hops. Medium body.
