omhper (10393), Stockholm, Sweden Feb 19, 2006 Draught at Rose and Raindrop, Portland. Hazy reddish brown. Butterscotch aroma. Sweet and softly malty. The nouthfeel is chewy rather than sticky and there is plenty of mature well developed malt flavours. There is some grapefruity hops, but the malt dominates. A nice, warming beer. Oakes (6823), Miami Beach, Florida, USA Mar 4, 2006 Dark amber colour. Slight toffee aroma with hints of soft, light, chewy caramel. There’s a bit of brown sugar to round things off. Quite sweet and without enough complexity to keep me interested. kp (6200), Woodstock, Georgia, USA Sep 1, 2007 Name: Barley wine

argo0 (6145), Washington DC, USA Jul 27, 2004 (bottle) Clear brown body with tan head. Aroma is medium sweet, raisin/prune, cinnamon. Taste is sweet, cinnamon, prune/raisin, alcohol. Full body. The cinnamon just doesn’t do it for me. oh6gdx (5760), Vaasa, Finland Dec 29, 2006 Bottled (thanks kenb!). Hazy dark amber colour with small off-white head. Aroma is malts, alcohol and American hops. Flavour is very wineous, but has a huge hayish hoppy dry finish.
