4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 nicplemel (19) - Seattle, Washington, USA - MAR 15, 2005
THIS IS UNDER RATED!!! For that matter Dicks is under rated. I know of no better Barley Wine style ale that you can get for such a great price... good beer doesn’t have to empty your wallet (purse?). I suspected that this was going to be sweeter than it was but was pleasantly suprised. Don’t be fooled by the lable, it pours a nice deep, hazy amber with alright head. I thought the alcohol flavor was just enoughf coupled with the fruity sweetness and just a hint of bitterness. Seriously, find a better priced, better tasting Barley Wine... I’ll put my foot in my mouth (but not before drinking more of this).

For the price nothing beats a dick’s barley wine. Pours a deep mahogany with a thick tan head. Dark fruits, hops, and sweet citrus fruits dominate the palate. This is an excellent barley wine.
4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 kenb (1102) - Oregon, USA - SEP 2, 2006
UPDATED: SEP 4, 2006 12 oz bottle from Liq Solutions. Pours a hazy dark copper/brown with a small head. Spicy/fruity aroma with a bit of alcohol underneath. A lot of flavor here. Ginger, peach, apple, toffee come to mind. Alcohol laden dry finish. A bit of bitter acidic chalkiness in the aftertaste. Starts out very tasty but just a little too blunt of a finish. Overall, a pretty good barleywine. Improve on the finish/aftertaste and this would be a real winner.
4.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 nstal (237) - Houston, Texas, USA - MAR 14, 2003
The label on this bottle looks like the labels you can print out and put on CD's that you were too cheap to buy so you burned them on your computer. Nice dark red color, and its amazing that i'm a few minutes into a barley wine and there's still bubbles from the head left. Splendid balance of flavors, perfect amount of ABV, not hidden, yet not focused upon. Quality brew.

This barley wine pours with a cloudy deep amber body topped by a medium thick head with some lacing. The aroma is slightly sweet and malty with a nice caramel note, some alcohol and a slight bitterness. The flavor is very sweet and malty with candy sugar notes and some alcohol. Medium to full bodied and smooth.
4.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 Verne (261) - Enumclaw, Washington, USA - MAY 6, 2003
Big rocky head and it lasted the whole way through the best head I have ever seen on a barley wine. Burnt toast, raisins, thick, chewy, a bit sour and mildly bitter. Well balanced flavor profile you can tell the alcohol is there but that isn’t a bad thing in this case. Not a mellow barley wine, maybe a little age would help. Well crafted beer a must try if you haven’t yet
