3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 brenn79 (922) - Idaho, USA - JUN 7, 2011
12 oz. bottle- Pours mildly cloudy with a 1 finger soapy white head, lacework is ok. The aroma is banana esters, clove, wheat, all the trademark aromas for the style. The taste is very strong on the banana, wow, it tastes like a piece of banana taffy, very interesting. The body is full, carbonation is medium. Overall I was impressed with this one, that flavor is very drinkable and unique. Half way through the glass I started detecting sour notes in the taste, so the taste drops from an 8 to a 7, the overall drops from a 16 to a 13, this beer did not finish well.

Bottle served in a footed lager glass. Pours light gold with a medium-short creamy head. Decent retention. Nose is s-wheat and candied pale malt. Good aromatics. Soft sweet flavor. Light body, slightly creamy texture, dry finish. Refreshing and not overly yeasty.

Bottle. Slightly spicy smelling. Little head but carbonation is evident. My least favorite dicks variety so far.

Bottle. Pours a slightly hazy gold with an impressive white head that shows excellent retention. Wheaty, slightly lemony aroma, but no real spiciness for me. Palate delivers the same-- more of an American style wheat than German. Slightly tart finish. Just okay.

On tap. Pours golden with bubbles and a beige head. aromas of candy sugar and some clove, not too much banana. Not too hefe-y, which I like. Creamy palate with a bit of banana and clove.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 scrizzz (2220) - Bothell, Washington, USA - JUN 18, 2009
Nice and cloudy, tall sparse white head. Little banana/clove thing going on, not as intense as imports, but respectable. Nearly spot on, clean, fruity, lots of banana, almost seems turned though. Still on the edge of good and I enjoyed it.
2.1 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20 SledgeJr (3577) - Omaha, Nebraska, USA - MAR 19, 2009
On tap at the brewpub. Pours a cloudy gold with a thick white head. Has an odd flavor of boiled vegetables. Yuck. Thin in body. This is not true to style. The aroma is quite metallic. This beer is nothing like a German Hefe.
2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 boFNjackson (2935) - Portland, Oregon, USA - FEB 10, 2009
Bottle... Poured a cloudy orange with a white head. Aroma of bananas, cloves, and yeasty bread. Tart citrus flavors, with yeast and bread-like malt. Not bad but far from standing out. I’ve had worst American style wheats.
