improvjock (55), USA Oct 3, 2008 Pours a honey-amber with medium off-white head. The taste is pretty complex, but there’s something funky in there. Probably just not my style... robforbes (752), Bremerton, Washington, USA Jul 19, 2008 pours a clear orange-yellow with a thin white head.
smell of sweet fruits (peach, pear), floral, some banana, yeast, caramel hidden in the back.
taste is thick and sweet, peach and pear as in the smell, a wee bit of yeast, some caramel.
overall not bad but a little on the sweet side. cathcacr (519), Portland, Oregon, USA Jul 12, 2008 #500 and I like. And a unique twist on a favorite style, no less. While it doesn’t match up to the original Belgian beers for that coveted frothy, cloudy appearance, it delivers a solid flavor profile with accents of something citrusy, fruity, coriandery perhaps. Quite sweet and bordering on candied/brown-sugary even. I don’t know what the deal is with the site’s average ratings and this brewer, but this should be tried blind for an objective assessment. drfabulous (737), Columbia, Missouri, USA Jun 3, 2008 Really sweet. Coates your tongue. An old school Belgian ale. Very nice. Brought back from Seattle. Take that Mr. Customs man! ratman197 (2344), Arvada, Colorado, USA May 27, 2008 Bottle poured a clear gold with a lasting off white head. Aromas of fruittiness, spice and light carmel. Palate was medium bodied and crisp with a smooth finish. Flavors of carmel, spice, apples, pears and a hint of honey with a smooth lingering spicy sweet finish.
