Commercial Description:
Black and incredibly creamy with flavors of coffee and dark chocolate. A large portion of highly roasted black unmalted barley gives this beer it's opaque black color and deep flavors. Additionally a large percentage of unmalted flaked barley in the malt beer gives this beer it's unmatched creaminess. We add just enough hops for a little complexity. The result is a true stout to satisfy any connoisseur of the style, yet so drinkable that it pleases even lighter beer drinkers

Pours pitch black with little to no offwhite head. Smells of coffee and chocolate. The taste is nice and more subtle than most stouts but the cream can be tasted underneath the coffee and chocolate taste. Palate is unimpressive but alright doesn’t last long. A decent beer.

This beer pours a dark brown color with no head but strangely enough it developed a nice lacing after a few minutes and as it warmed. The aroma is malty, chocolatey, mildly lactic but definitely not overbearing and surpsingly smokey! Wood, licorice, cherries and roasted barley make up the remainder of the aroma. The flavor is full bodied, malty and sweet throughout. Caramel, smokey wood, licorice, thick cherries, chocolate, lactic milkiness and a dry sweet finish with some chocolate grains. Long lasting and developing flavor, some oatmeal and raisin sweetness as well....so many different flavors going on here, a very nice dessert beer. Mild carbonation, silky mouthfeel.

Deep brown body with a foamy beige head looked good. The aroma was subtle coffee and chocolate and sweet heavy cream. Medium body with slight carbonation and a creamy texture. The flavor was coffee/cream/chocolate. Put this on a par with Great Lakes Blackout Stout.

Opaque dark brown with ruby tints, nice thick creamy head. Aroma of semi-sweet cocoa, and some roasty coffee. Very smooth, slightly sweet chocolatey flavors. Well balanced bitter roastiness with some coffee notes. Very solid stout.

Bottle Pours a deep black with a decent fluffy tan head. Settleling rather quickly but leaving nice fine lacing. Faint dark roast malt, purple grapes and prunes are here but they don’t jump out at you. Taste is a nice mellow malty smokey flavor. Some coffee and charcoal too. Subtle is the word here. Maybe even plain for a stout. Feel is a medium body and a smooth finish. Carbonation is a bit soft but I think apropriate for the style.

Dark black color with tan head and light lacing. The aroma is metallic with some caramel & roast. Fairly dry & bitter too. The flavor is more creamy & sweet. Balanced mocha, chocolate & coffee that finishes very nice & lively with a full chocolaty body. eh.
