3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
22 oz. bottle- Pours black with almost no head yet again, aroma is chocolate, not bad. The flavor is mellow and creamy with an underlying bitterness, not a bad cream stout, doesn’t push any boundaries though.

pours dark brown, light mocha head.
aroma of sweet dark fruit like nose, light roast, medium chocolate bitterness.
flavor, 2nd Dick’s beer that appears to be slightly under expectations, keeps a lactic like palate, some roasted malts, dark fruits; currants, caramel. Medium carbonation with a lingering fruit sourness that I got in the previous Dick’s, light bitter chocolate with roast finish. There is something off with the few beers I’ve had from them.

Not going to lie -- I just wanted to try something called "Dicks cream stout." Served cold on tap at Ginger Man, NYC. Nothing special from this sweet stout.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Black as it should be with nice creamy tab head. Light roasted aroma. Flavor is nice notes of deep roasted malt chocolate and a bit of bitter biscuit. Very similar to deschuetes obsidian stout. Best I have had from dicks.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Very dark and thick. Very nice roasted malt aroma. Some coffee, light chocolate, as well. Flavor is full of bittersweet chocolate, roasted malts, and some coffee. Body is a bit more carbonated than I would prefer in this type of stout, but still nice. Overall a very nice stout.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Nice roasted malt aroma with a creamy sweetness. Jet black, sticky head, full lacing. Full creamy body, strong roasted black malt (but not burnt), some coffee notes and very satisfying. Great sweet stout, amazed that there’s no lactose.

I used to buy this by the case directly from the brewery (cheaper that way). This is my favorite beer from Dick’s. Quality varies from 2.5 to 4.5 (out of 5), but it is most often in the upper range (3.5 to 4.5).
Bitter Chocolate flavor usually predominates, otherwise smooth and very drinkable for a stout. Often identical in taste to Samuel Smith’s Tadcaster Porter.
I no longer drive to the brewery since they stopped making their Champagne Cola (like a Vanilla Coke only better), which tied as one of my favorite sodas of all time.
