COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Black and incredibly creamy with flavors of coffee and dark chocolate. A large portion of highly roasted black unmalted barley gives this beer it's opaque black color and deep flavors. Additionally a large percentage of unmalted flaked barley in the malt beer gives this beer it's unmatched creaminess. We add just enough hops for a little complexity. The result is a true stout to satisfy any connoisseur of the style, yet so drinkable that it pleases even lighter beer drinkers

Nice looking ale, a dark brown with a fully formed creamy white head. Dull aromatics leave much to be desired and not much to describe. Flavor seems incomplete at its core, almost homebrew-like. Lacking richness and malt complexity, it only possesses very light notes of lactose and stale dark malt.

Thanks to Brandon for the bottle! Poured deep brown with a nice initial cap of beige head that settled down after a minute or so. The aroma picked up well-roasted, sweeter milk chocolates, dulce du leche, and barley on an overall sweet and entirely enjoyable nose. The flavor was sweet as well with toasty barley and milk chocolates leading.. there was a darker layer of chocolate that provided a cake-like impression.. nice balance and very desserty. Medium-bodied and smooth across the palate (almost buttery).. coffee appeared at the end, giving a complementary bitterness.. tasty, tasty stuff!

Not a big fan of stouts but this one was quite good. Huge tan head that went away rapidly, good amount of lacings. Aroma is cocoa and roasted malts. Taste is some coffee, cocoa, nice roasted malts, bitter hops. Alcohol a bit noticable but O.K. Pretty well balanced for the style.

marcus (3776) - Sacramento, California, USA - AUG 11, 2008
This black ale poured with a massive creamy tan head that subsided fairly quickly. There is a hearty roasted malt flavor with some chocolate notes and a slightly soapy and bitter aftertaste. Not bad.
