3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 Maria (8582) - Thisted, DENMARK - MAY 6, 2007
It’s a pitch black stout with a creamy, huge head. The aroma has notes of roasted malt and chocolate. The flavour has a nice, but rather pronounced bitterness and notes of chocolate, a light, smooth sweetness, coffee and licorice. It’s a nice stout with a relatively low ABV and a lot of flavour - I like that. Thank you After4ever/Tom for this one, that I had on my wish list!!! 2063
3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20 bhensonb (7586) - Woodland, California, USA - AUG 5, 2006
Smells toasty, but lightly so. Deep brown, with a head that ran away at once. Starts with toasted malt, develops some sweetness, followed by a hint of sour, and not a lot of bitterness. There is something uncommon, and I guess that’s the cream aspect. Very smooth mouthfeel, but there’s a slight burst of sour, if you swish it around. This is really something that stands alone. The aftertaste is a combination of sour and bitter - but low levels, and it’s just very good and uncommon.
3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 hopscotch (7535) - Vero Beach, Florida, USA - SEP 11, 2006
Bottle... NTB Ernesto Festo ’06... Drank this one while checking out the beach around 10 AM, September 1st. The beach, from the dune to low-tide water (80 yards) is completely flat, damp and hard. Looks like khaki-colored glass. Surreal... post WWIII looking. Dry sand blowing up the beach (south to north) like snow blowing across the highway during a cold, dry winter storm. Eerie, but cool looking! Anyway, the brew... it pours pitch black with a small, fizzy, light brown head. Very rich, chocolaty nose with lots of toasted nuts and heavy molasses. The flavor matches the aroma with an additional touch of caramel. Nearly full-bodied and very creamy with lively carbonation. Toasty, moderately bitter, lightly tangy finish. Better than expected. Thanks kenb!

Bottle sampled on 2/13/07: Pours a barely transparent dark mahogany with a light tan head. Aroma of molten milk chocolate, roasty malt and a touch of sweetness. Body starts lightly dark caramely malty along with earthy roasted malts and a hint of tartness. An ok cream stout.
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 3fourths (6406) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - FEB 5, 2004
A cola-like head on this one. Smell is an oily cream with some mild chocolate. Thin and carbonated, with some light crisp flavors of grains, milk and some metallic tones.
