Angeloregon (1549), Portland, Oregon, USA Jul 22, 2008 On tap at Belmont Station--Poured a dark, murky brown-amber body with a toffee and hops spice nose. Sweet, rich and crisp. Very nice and highly drinkable. Somewhere between and amber and a brown ale but with the quaffability of a pale ale. HoppyGuy (78), USA Jun 28, 2008 On tap. Pours a deep ebony color with an off-white head. The aroma is a bit hoppy, yet a bit sweet (chocolate?). The flavor has the roasted malt upfront, with a touch of coffee. Interestingly enough, the mouthfeel isn’t "heavy" like a lot of dark brews, but is lighter than it looks like it should be. This brew has a bit of a hops presence and a little bitterness, but a posses great balance with the roasted malts. Very drinkable. I’d like to pair this brew with some nice barbecue food and a potato salad. BOLTZ7555 (408), Phoenix, Arizona, USA Jun 13, 2008 What does one expect from a session beer??? The flavor is there...roasted malt, caramel, toffee. The aroma is subtle coffee with a touch of honey sweetness. Thin compared to others in the category but that quality adds to its drinkability. I liked it. Wouldn’t mind another (and another, and another, and another). pinkzambia (863), Boise, Idaho, USA May 29, 2008 Bottle:Brown color with gold tints and a tan head. Hoppy aroma with splinters and leather. Chocolate, roasted flavors abound and the feel is nice and creamy. I definitely notices some of the porter characteristics like the commercial description BuckeyeBoy (1065), Boise, Idaho, USA May 29, 2008 Bottle pours out abrown with a touch of red. Topped with a light tan head. A nice aroma of sweet chocolate and alittle hop. Tast of light nuts and hops. Nice bitter on the end. thanks Pink for letting me have a sample.
