Bottle courtesy of brewdad. Pours dark brown with an off white head. Smells of spice, some earth, tea, oats, nutty. Tastes of sweet caramel, some light chocolate, spicy, some sweet citrussy hints, nice bitterness. This is an unusual, but very enjoyable beer. Very porter like.

Dark brown/black, translucent, head is foamy and beige and fades. Aroma of citrus and roast malt. Taste has dark fruit sweetness with some mild floral hop and a very toasty bread malt body. Medium, lively carbonation. Kind of a grapey finish.

Bottle at Andy and Maxís fantasy tasting. This wasnít very good, honestly. Swampy and vegetal, weird fruit and nut notes. Medium bodied. finishes astringent.

Bottle at Andy and Maxís fantasy tasting. Pours a nice deep nutty woody brown with a good lasting beige head. Aroma is nutty, toast, a touch of sharp chocolate, and herbal and light citrus hops. Flavor has a sharp roasted barley kick, chocolate, nuts and grass with earthy dryness in the finish. Pretty solid for a brown ale.

Bottle shared by jbye4334. Pours clear brown with a small, fizzy, off-white head, low retention. Aroma is medium sweet malt, caramel, moderate hops, spicy and earthy, with alcohol notes. Flavor is moderate hop flavor and bitterness, light caramel and biscuit malt. Medium bodied and medium carbonation.

Tap at Blind Tiger. Poured a rich mahogNy. Nose is dark berries and a hint of booze and currant.solid strong ale nicely carbonated. Nice dark fruit notes. A tad sour in the finish. Nice. †

Tap at Ginger Man. Brown pour with a thin off-white head. The nose is lightly sweet with a soft toasted malt character. Fairly fresh smelling if a bit typical. There is a touch of herbal character. Flavour is of soft brown malt with a bit of woody hop bitterness. A little bit thin. Toasty with a little bit of soft cocoa. Undistinguished but drinkable.
