The Original C.D.A., Dick Danger Ale is a non-intrusive dark ale which defies all style guidelines. A large percentage of black malt give this distinctive ale its dark brown/black color and slightly roasted flavor. The Magnum hops provide a backbone of bitterness and large late additions of Mt. Hood hops lend good flavor and aroma in the finish. Dick Danger Ale is Dick’s Brewing flagship beer and is the first beer created by late Founder, Dick Young.

Serving: from tap at Stellar Pizza, Ale, and Cocktails. Aroma: light floral hops. Appearance: small, light brown, initial head that quickly dissipated. No lacing and fully diminishing longevity. Clear, dark-red/brown body. Taste: lightly sweet, fruity, initial flavor and finish with average duration. Palate: medium bodied with oily texture and soft carbonation. Overall: very good.

Brown color. It’s a bit malty, caramelly, bready, also some oxidization note; low bitterness.
The style is boring, but the beer is clean.

Draft wob cap hill. Malt forward, pronounced hop bitterness. Roasted, almost burnt black malt flavor. Dark amber, light brown color. Medium bodied throughout. Middle leads to dark fruit, prune, alcohol, chocolate. Finish is highly hop bitter and it lingers slightly unpleasantly on the tongue. Overall highly hopped bitter flavored malty balanced west coast ale.

The appearance had a brown colored body with a slim white foamy head that simmers down to a quick filmy lacy looking spotted head. The smell was slightly grainy with a little nuttines and chocolate. The taste had a mainly sweet nutty maltiness. The aftertaste is sweet nutty and malty. The finish is slightly dry yet sweet and lingering. The palate was about a light to medium in body, and has a decent sessionability. Overall, good English Brown Ale that I would have again.

Bottle. Pours a somewhat cloudy dark brown color with very little head on it. Nose has a little caramel in there, as well as some roasting on the background. Taste has a little bitterness to it, with a lot more roasting coming through. Feels a little harsher than I would have liked.

Bottle from Lets Pour. Brown ale with a nice apple taste to it. Pretty good and easy to drink at 5%. Better than the ratings on this.

On tap pours a dark brown color with a tan head that leaves ok lacing. Smells of roasted malt, banana, chocolate and caramel. Tastes of all the same things in the smell with a nut and Belgian yeast flavor. Mouthfeel is heavy and watery with ok carbonation. Overall this is a pretty good brown ale with a Belgian twist but falls short on the appearance and palate.
