3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 NachlamSie (2146) - Tennessee, USA - MAY 24, 2012
Pint at Summit Public House. Pours brown with a white head. The aroma is nutty with brief hoppiness, smells a little metallic but not offputting. The flavor has notes of chocolate, almonds toffee. This is malty and approachable, not robust or hefty, not particularly rewarding. I guess that could apply to many brown ales for me.

2.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20 Slipstream (1550) - USA - AUG 19, 2011
UPDATED: AUG 25, 2011 On draft at Colicchio & Sons, where I overpaid for a pint of this ordinary brown ale. Very malty, and my taste buds had a hard time detecting the large additions of Mount Hood hops (altho there was a touch of something that tasted like spearmint). Pretty flat too. To me it tasted mostly like two day old iced coffee with extra sugar added, and a little cola too. This stuff didn’t click with me.

Yum. This is nice. Smooth first, then sweet and a bit chewy. Pretty decent brew, but just a bit on the sweet side.

12 oz. bottle- Pours clear dark brown with a soapy light tan head, aroma is caramel malt and a little sweet. The flavor is nutty and creamy, very sessionable. The body is a little thin, carbonation is medium, finish is abrupt. Not the best brown ale out there, but it’ll do.
