3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 lb4lb (2026) - Austin, USA - FEB 3, 2009
Bottle from msubulldog25. Pours reddish maroon with a light beige head and lacing. Smell is balanced with a nice red ale maltiness but noticeable very lightly spicy hop character. Taste is hoppy up front with a nice bitterness and a good rich caramel sweetness to it. Kind of a bitter, hoppy dark red ale feel about it. Medium to full body and medium slightly prickly carbonation. Pretty enjoyable beer all around. Good stuff.

12oz bottle. Stained-glass amber-red, with a thin, patchy beige head. This is quite a great beer, big caramel tones, but even bigger steady piny hop tones. There is also some alcohol warmth, some vanilla tinged fruity amber malt, and some burnt coffee tones. Quality ingredients and excellent execution. This beer makes me want to move to the Northwest. Excellent.
3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 michaelinwa (205) - Bothell, Washington, USA - DEC 5, 2011
Pours medium brown, and has a strong sweet malty aroma. Flavor is robust sweet malt, and the sweetness lingers on the palate. There are carmel and date tones in there to add nice complexity. Finishes with a combination of sweet malt and hop bitterness, but still primarily sweet, almost sticky malt. I like beers along this line, but this one is actually a bit too sweet for me. Almost sugary throughout, so I’ll take a pass on this in the future.

12 oz bottle from New Seasons - Poured a dark brown. Absolutely no head. That was a little disappointing. Strong barley aroma with hints of caramel. Sweet beer. Not my favorite, but not a terrible one, either.

Bottle. Poured a clear ruddy dark orange color. The head was tall, creamy, and tan with and orange tint. Good retention and lacing. Smelled of rum soaked fruit cake with plenty of raisin, brown sugar, cinnamon, and caramel. There was also subdued pineapple and orange peel. Medium to full bodied and sweet with mild to moderate bitterness. Carbonation was on the lower end of the spectrum. Citrus rind, earthy hop, caramel, and cola flavors.

Draught from the blind tiger. Poured a reddish brown with mild head. SOme hops and some sourness. Ok not great.

On tap at TCBF, pours dark amber. This is similar to the Double Danger Ale. Aroma and flavour of sweet dried fruits, caramel malts and quite a bit of sweetness. Very good.
3.4 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 muteprint (176) - Olympia, Washington, USA - JUL 26, 2010
A rather enjoyable and hearty ale. In the same vein as Dicks Danger Ale but it just seems to be... more. More malty, more bitter and more ABV. One of my favorite offerings from Dicks. It’s a beer that has a personality.
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 MrChopin (2213) - Baltimore, Maryland, USA - JUN 21, 2010
Bottle thanks to olympuszymurgus! Dark orange-tan, carbonated body with a large sudsy white head. Heavy caramel and mint nose, definitely sweet, with a light heat, and showing some musty earthiness. Flavor is somewhat oxidized, a lot of caramel and bubblegum with a bit of cherry at the front, lingering heavy sugar, light cardboard, and light pine bitterness near the back. Washed out body, creamy and moderate with little carbonation. The nose showed some promise with the balance, but this hasn’t aged well since bottling.

Draft. Pours a dark amber body with a white head. Spicy, cinnamon notes, mild malt tones, and some light oak. Chewy malt tones, light floral creamy with dark fruit tones, caramel, german malts. Creamy body and a nice session ale.
