COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Intensely fruity and complex Belgian-stlye ale. This special beer is brewing art from start to finish. A full mash tun of malted barley is required to reach the high gravity required for this style, along with a high percentage of a special classic Belgian-style malt. Noble hops are added sparingly to the kettle. During the long boil special kettle sugars are added in the Belgian tradition which lend unique flavors in the fermenter. A classic Belgian yeast strain is pitched and the long fermentation is monitored closely as the flavors develop. The beer is then chilled and aged before being kegged and bottled.

Clear amber pour. Sweet malty aroma, toffee, golden raisins, and nail polish. Flavor is sweet, quite sweet actually. Some alcohol is noticeable and acetone. Not sure about this one.

12 oz bottle from Bottleworks. Nice brown color and a very strong aroma of belgian candy sugars and yeast. Flavor is super strong, and completely overdone. This beer is high octane methanol. I hate to admit this, but I dumped it out. Gross.

Big-time cloudy, unfiltered, yellow-orange appearance, no head, like apple cider. Effervescent alcohol aroma but not much else, maybe a bit yeasty. Smooth palate. Unbalanced, alcohol. Thanks Kawa for an uncommon brew.

Poured murky orange with almost no head...fruit and alcohol in the nose...very thick mouthfeel, seemed oily...malty and alcohol...finish all alcohol...they tried too hard on this one I think...

(750 ml bottle) Pours a thick apple cider-like body and color with thin off-white head. Aroma of yeast, alcohol, and peat moss. Buttery mouthfeel. Flavor of mostly alcohol and some apple, candy, and yeast. Thanks for sharing Kawa!

Well, some of my cru (or is that krew or just plain old posse?) didn’t seem to think that this was so Grand. I thought it was fair or better. Sweet and rather pedestrian rather than grand.

Amber with a slight haze and an inactive head. Roasted marshmallow, spice, and light citrus on the aroma. Semi-sweet, alcoholic flavor with a sour finish. Seems a little thin. Good but weak.

Belgian and very strong. Typical spicy taste with massive alcohol burn. A tad light on the malt. It’s nice to see an american brewer tackling this style, as it’s rarely attempted outside of Belgium.
