Bomber poured a clear orange amber with a small lasting creamy amber head. Aromas of grasiness, skunk bud, pine, earthiness, bread and grapefruit. Palate was medium bodied and crisp with a dry finish. Flavors of skunk bud, earthioness, pine, bread and grapefruit with a crisp dry lingering skunk bud finish.

22oz. Btl. Pours copper with a frothy head. Strong citrus and resin aromas dominate as the fissiness settles in. Lively, bitter and sour to the palate, taste is not as strong as inticapated...but good non the less. Finish is great and smooth with a heavy citrus tang.
2.4 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20 womencantsail (3928) - Home of Rebecca Black, California, USA - SEP 3, 2011
A: The pour is amber-orange in color with a small white head.
S: All sorts of wrong. Sweet caramel and toffee dominates, but there is booze and harsh pine with a bit of green apple and melon. Sweet bread and caramel with a bit of oxidation.
T: Same story on the flavor. Sweet bread, toffee, and caramel malts with citrus peel and pine. Somewhat bitter with a little bit of grass and some definite booziness.
M: Medium to full bodied with medium carbonation.
O: Another BAD IPA.
3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 p1meatloaf (208) - California, USA - SEP 3, 2011
In Bomber from Eugene, OR and opened in San Digeo into pint glass. Looks like straight up apricot. 1 finger light creamy head. Little hazy look. Smells like grapefruit citrus and orange. Tastes bold and strong with a good malt base. It has a pretty fruity smoothness to it. Not enough hop bitterness that i expect in a double. None the less a delicious beer just not great for the style. Overall 7.5 of 10.
2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 beersearcher (1474) - Glendale, California, USA - AUG 24, 2011
This is big and bold and unfortunately to my tongue a bit of a muddle. Hoppy as all get out but none really shine. color and aroma are all mid road to me.
3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 Aubrey (3192) - Bellingham, Washington, USA - AUG 23, 2011
Not overly "hoppy" like many impy IPAs, but solid nonetheless. Has a nice, fruity-caramel nose. Texture is full and a bit chewy, but not necessarily cloying. Earthy, wholesome malts with hints of bread, nuts and wholegrain. Bitterness isn’t sharp; it’s smooth and grassy, and it builds slowly into a round ball on the back of the tongue. Hints of grapefruit rind surface here and there, just as the big alcohol soothes the throat. Very "hopped," but not in a sharp or snappy way; rather, it’s in a round and fuzzy way. If that makes sense.
3.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 bhensonb (7581) - Woodland, California, USA - AUG 3, 2011
Bomber from Malt & Vine. Pours ruddy copper with a slight beige head. Aroma of citrified barley wine. Med+ body. Flavor is quite citric over some sturdy caramel backbone. The malt fights to come forth, but loses. On balance it’s dry and bitter. Even seems a bit peppery. It’s got lots of everything, but it doesn’t really stand out from the pack. But it’s right in the running. Good drink.
3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 CampesinoTino (497) - Seattle, Washington, USA - JUL 19, 2011
Bomber. Dark rusted orange and amber colored in appearance with thick off-white head. The aroma is a pungent blend of sweet citrus and caramel with a bit of cannabis around the edges. The flavor starts heavy on the tangerine and pine followed by a good dose of alcohol, malt and herbal hops characteristics. The body is definitely on the sticky and syrupy side with mild creaminess and medium carbonation. The finish is aggressively bitter and boozy with more citrus at the end. Not a bad DIPA but the alcohol and hops bitterness are overwhelming at times.

Mediocre at best. Every aspect of this is underwhelming especially for a double ipa. Mildly citrusy, not too bitter, alcohol is masked, not malty. Balanced mediocrity.

22oz bottle split with mcberko. Pours a cloudy copper orange, with a white creamy head. Aroma of citrus, candied sugar, caramel, tropical fruits: apricot, mango, tangerine. Flavour of aforementioned tropical fruits, orange peel, hops and roasted caramel. Pleasantly bitter and appropriately balanced. Smooth to begin with. Nice.
