Soft mouthfeel. Slightly tart and moderately bitter with some metallic notes. Milky, roasted and chocolate flavors. Too sweet for the level of flavor that the beer has. Overall, doesn’t measure up. Nose of caramel and chocolate hops with a bright hoppiness as well. Rich, full mouthfeel. Notes of sweet creamy sugars and chocolate and slight coffee. Finished well-rounded and was utterly delicious. goldtwins (4086), Nesconset, New York, USA

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Aug 31, 2007 12 oz. bottle. Deep black/ruby, not quite opaque, but still inviting with a medium light brown head that sticks around for a while. In addition to the usual coffee and chocolate aromas, which are somewhat subdued here, there is also some dark fruitiness, and a hint of alcohol. Nice mouthfeel, a pleasing thickness on the palate, light carbonation, and just a touch of astringency. Prominent sweet malt flavors balance well with the bitterness of the roasted malts and peppery hops resulting in a very soft blanced finish. This lies on the border between an Imperial Stout and a simple Stout. It’s not overly assertive in any aspect, but presents nice balance and is very drinkable. I’s buy more if it were available where I live. Skyview (4121), Papoose Jct., Minnesota, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Aug 30, 2007 Picked up a single 12-oz bottle via trade with kenb. Pours a medium brown amber brew with a heavy light tan head that slowly dissolves to a fine film, tan ring and average lacing. Aroma of brown sugar, toasted dark malt, some chocolate, coffee and a touch of vanilla. Taste is full bodied, slightly metalic and light carbonation with flavors of dark roasted malt, dark chocolate and some mild bitter hops. Finish is mildly bitter with a dark roasted malt aftertaste.
