Commercial Description:
A pale ale hopped to the extreme! This beer starts out as a nice pale ale until it reaches the kettle. Throughout the course of the 90 minute boil four massive hop additions are made which transform this beer into a hop-head's dream come true. Both Chinook and Tomahawk hops from the Yakima valley are added in extreme quantities for the maximum bitterness, flavor and aroma.

Think that there was very likely a clash going on with my tongue as this came after many others in a tasting - had a very harsh bite to the hops. Not to be confused with someone that doesn’t like aggressively hopped beers - SHARP. But, as I said, could easily have been in competition with other elements on the worn out tongue. Being that I’ve liked other Dick’s beers I presume that I would normally enjoy this.

Breathtakingly herbal, hoppy aroma. Grapefruit, citrus flavors. Bitter hops control this brew to the very end. Fresh and inviting. I have made the comment that super hoppy IPA’s sometimes burn me out, but not today! Nice beer. I am really becoming a fan of Dick’s brews.

Clear polished copper with a huge rocky head. Grassy and flowers in the aroma with a touch of oranges, medium bodied, light taste, stingy carbonation, starts and ends bitter. Although, not that bitter.

Pours a deep amber with a semi thick off-white head. Aroams of pine, banana and caramel. Flavors of pine, and a slight sweetness. A little poor example of the style.

Dark yellow -- almost brownish -- with a lot of small floaties. Curious nose ... wholesome, earthy, kind of yeasty, and a little damp.Quite citrusy. Rather stark citric bite lurks up slowly in the cheeks. Bitterness seems to build everywhere and becomes a little too much.

Bronze amber, light shimmering gold. The light sticky head & lacing. The aroma is earthy & perfume with some caramel malt. The flavor is bitter sweet with more hops. Finishes tangy, citrusy & hoppy, dry alcohol mouthfeel.

As far as an IPA should look, this hits the mark very nice in my opinion. Nice amber color with a great white head that lasts for a while leaving moderate lacing. Aroma was slightly malty, with good hop tones and citrus finish. Taste is very bitter with a slight citrus taste and a good hop content. A little too bitter for my taste but very refreshing on a nice day.
