COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A pale ale hopped to the extreme! This beer starts out as a nice pale ale until it reaches the kettle. Throughout the course of the 90 minute boil four massive hop additions are made which transform this beer into a hop-head's dream come true. Both Chinook and Tomahawk hops from the Yakima valley are added in extreme quantities for the maximum bitterness, flavor and aroma.

Pours amber with a thin white head. Smells of caramel, peppery, citrussy. Tastes of ininspired citrus and astringent with a caramelly cloying finish.

On tap at the brewpub. Butterscotch color with a medium creamy off-white head. There’s not much aroma here but it has a good mid-range hop bitterness with plenty of grapefruit notes. It has honey flavors but it’s not very sweet. A long finishing buttery palate.

Very good IPA. Large hop profile, generally evokes citrus and complimented by a generous malt body. Just sweet enough for the hops, but not to ruin an IPA.

12oz bottle from RiversideAK. Pours cloudy amber with a moderate sized off white head. Good of lace. Smells earthy and caramelly malty with sweet, citrus notes. Tastes citrusy and earthy hoppy with a good dose of sweetish cereal malt in there. Good, balanced, bitter yet slightly sweet. Medium body, good carbonation.

Bottle from MOC in Ashland, OR. I’ve had this a few months, not a great idea considering the nature of the beer. Still, the beer was rather thin to go with the trademark bitterness. It smelled of dishsoap, regardless of the smooth drinkability.

Bottle courtesy of riversideAK. Pours a cloudy ice tea color with some floaters and a one finger rocky beige head great lacing. Nose is malt, floral hops and light pine. Taste is caramel malt upfront, but then it’s all about the bitter resin. After taste lasts for a quite a while. Medium mouth feel. A little imbalanced, but I like them hoppy. Decent IPA – thanks Alex!

Draught @ the brewpub. Pours a clear amber color with a small white head. Has a malty hoppy citrus aroma. Dry malty hoppy bitter flavor with hints of citrus. Has a dry malty hoppy bitter finish.

NIce copper pour with brilliant white and lasting head, leaving lacing all over the glass. Nice floral aromas wtih a tangy malted scent for balance. Apricots, wheaty caramel and fruited notes bringing up mid to late palate before a lingering dusty bittering finish. Good mouthfeel and quite well balanced, full in flavor. Clean and quenching, would be a wonderful session beer for a spicy bbq.

12oz bottle split with Ann. Big, biscuity IPA. Relatively clear tan-brown color. Very English in character in my opinion, about as full-bodied as a beer of 5.5% should be. Nice, mellow, and bitter. OK.

This one scores high in the aroma category - full of fruity grapefruit notes. Pours a bitter hazy copper/brown with some off white head. Flavor is bitter, but not overwhelmingly so, followed by a biscuity finish. At 5%, it makes up for lack of ABV with a huge hop profile, and it doesn’t do an overkill on the bittering hops, and gives enough florals to keep it interesting.
