From a bottle. A good IPA - nice bitter finish. Nothing particularly outstanding, but very drinkable.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 jonwell (104) - Huntington Beach, California, USA - MAY 21, 2004
12oz bottle, ~50 degrees, brewed in Washington.
Pours a light orange/yellow with a fluffy and firm white head. Very attractive. The head is almost merangue like as it recedes- makes wierd little bumps. Aroma is sharply grassy, slightly lemony, a tad soapy, a bit antiseptic. Not bad. Flavor is suprisingly malty, quite bitter but not harsh, has a bit of tangy hop flavor around the middle, but not much. Maybe a bit lacking in the flavor department for me. It is pleasent and refreshing though, good for a hot-ass day like today. It’s more of a NW pale ale than an IPA, aside from the sharp bitterness maybe.

On draft at Dicks Brewing Company. This is a good IPA. Decent amber color with ok off-white head. Has a good hop flavor and as it lingers you get a bit of the malt. Very drinkable and could be an everyday IPA. Unfortunately, it’s not distributed where I live.
2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20 dret (22) - santa cruz, California, USA - APR 27, 2006
Flower power!, doughy. Dry. Bitter fruit skin. Alive and healthy aura. White half inch head. If you like dry bitter bready beer, you’d like this one. It seems to be missing a a little more sweetness that i look for in an IPA.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 Scoutman (14) - USA - JAN 30, 2008
A nice session IPA if you will. Grapefruit and citrus zest dominate an orange/copper flavored brew. Good head retention. Well balanced with enough hop bite to satisfy, but not too much alcohol to enjoy repeatedly.

12 oz. bottle pour yielded a heavily bitter IPA. This brew features a very dry floral aroma, but lacks the balance characterisic of typical imperial IPAs. However, the clarity, head retention and notable lacing illustrates the fine craftsmanship and attention to detail of this ale’s brewer. Flavor was dry and grapefruit like. Not as deep or complex as other IPAs in this class. Overall, this is an average quality IPA, one which could easily be enjoyed with some hot dogs at a summer picnic.
