COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A pale ale hopped to the extreme! This beer starts out as a nice pale ale until it reaches the kettle. Throughout the course of the 90 minute boil four massive hop additions are made which transform this beer into a hop-head's dream come true. Both Chinook and Tomahawk hops from the Yakima valley are added in extreme quantities for the maximum bitterness, flavor and aroma.

Poured a medium and slightly cloudy amber with a smaller sized off white head. Nice aroma of grapefruit and light oranges. Tastes of mainly grapefruit (very one dimensional). Medium bitter with a thin body.

Tap at Pacific Standard. The pour is a hazy, poo orange with no head and no lace. Probably the ugliest IPA I’ve ever seen. The aroma is all stale hoppy with cheese and rotting berries. Taste is dry, soapy, muddy, just on the grasping edge of IPA. Sucked dick.

Clear orange with lots of lacing. Sweet peach and wood hop aroma, which is very nice. Woody and musty flavor with a soapy finish. Thin.

JorisPPattyn (7716) - Antwerpen, BELGIUM - APR 20, 2006
Draught Clear amber-copper; good, fluffy off-white head. Cocos; cookies and USA hops, not overdone constitute the nose. Mild bitter hops, and again, getting cocos in the taste. Bitterness is hoppy, grapefruit and hopsacks. Slightly burning MF, bit harsh, piney aftertaste. Good stereotypic Westcoast IPA.

DocLock (7481) - Lower Pottsgrove, Pennsylvania, USA - SEP 22, 2009
Bottle from Craft. Deep copper pour with 2-finger off-white head. Nose is caramel malt, orange marmalade, hops. Tastes caramel malty, with notes of pineapple, resiny hops, and black pepper.

jercraigs (7348) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - APR 18, 2008
2008-04-18. Lightly hazy dark amber with a good sized fluffy white head, some lacing. (3+) Light hoppy aroma with muted note of feet and light resin. Moderate bitterness in the flavour, resiny bitterness grows in the finish and borders on astringency at times. Average palate. Just okay, the hops are bitter without adding the complexity and delicateness I had hoped for. Shows potential but does not follow through. Bottle from Karen’s Seattle Trip

CaptainCougar (7129) - Columbia, Maryland, USA - MAY 11, 2008
Pours a transparent copper orange with a frothy, spotty-lacing white head. Aroma of lightly sweet toasty pale malty with some caramel notes and a touch of piny hops. Starts with a full carbonation and lightly sweet pale malt flavor with a crisp grapefruity bittering hoppy presence. A decent IPA, but could use a little more balance.

Bottle. Rich amber beer with a nice off-white head. Low grapefruit aroma. Big grapefruit and pine flavor with some backing malt. Long lasting grapefruit bitterness. Medium bodied.

Ibrew2or3 (6521) - Tempe, Arizona, USA - NOV 6, 2007
Pours a clear copper with bubbly effervescence that piles up a off white head. The aroma is grapefruit hops, orange rind and vague malty sweetness. The taste is a load of straight up bitter grapefruit hops that attack right from the get go. A tasty pale maltiness wells up about midway but quickly succumbs to the grapefruit hop bitterness. The malts are simply out numbered here. They did put up a worthy battle. But in the finish and into the after taste the hops hold strong with citrus bitterness.

Cletus (6329) - Connecticut, USA - MAR 24, 2009
Pours amber with a thin white head. Smells of caramel, peppery, citrussy. Tastes of ininspired citrus and astringent with a caramelly cloying finish.
