3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle. Orange amber, creamy compact head. Aroma of citrus fruit, light pine, and a little plastic. Sweet toffee malts, citrus rind, resin, and a little band-aid plastic note. Finishes with astringent green-stick bitterness. I think this is on the verge of being past its prime, with the plasticcy phenols lurking in here.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
22. Pours crystal clear coppery medium amber. Thick, sudsy white head with streaky sedimentary lace. Bready, yeasty nose, with some dark, woody, piney hop notes. Medium body, a bit of lively carb. Woody, resiny mid-palate over a bit of biscuit. Longish resiny finish. This is a solid effort--certainly not amazing, and not the first flavor profile I would reach for (so much wood). But it’s tasty and refreshing, and offers a nice dark bitter option amonst all the bright fruit and pine.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle (22oz). Shared with blankboy, jerc, mabel and tupalev - bottle courtesy of J&K. Cloudy orange with a huge creamy white head. Earthy, funky hop aroma, decent malt backbone. Taste - same, again leafy - quite dry and bitter, and still that mild peat or earthy mineral tang. Decent body, astringent and decently bitter in the long finish, alcohol emerging a bit at the very tail end - good!

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
12 oz. bottle, pours a hazy dark golden with a small white head. Fairly mild grassy hops aroma and flavour. Refreshing IPA, but nothing special here.

Flavour of resiny hops along with caramel malt, fruit and a decent bitter finish. Average bodied. Nothing great, just a good IPA.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
UPDATED: APR 4, 2008 A rather standard IPA. Very easy drinking. Medium body. Good citrus/caramel malt aroma. Unlike the raters before me, I did not see this as being all that bitter. There were more hops in the nose than on the palate. This would be a nice intorductory IPA, as it is not over the top with alcohol, hops, or malts.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Cask, pours an amber body with an off whit head. Citrus, grapefruit hoppy bitterness. A mild earthy tone. Initially its more sweet then the bitter herbal hop resinous earth y character dries it out. Nice ipa.

Bronze amber, light shimmering gold. The light sticky head & lacing. The aroma is earthy & perfume with some caramel malt. The flavor is bitter sweet with more hops. Finishes tangy, citrusy & hoppy, dry alcohol mouthfeel.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
This is a good hophead’s IPA. Deep orange in color with a frothy white head, it begins quietly with an aroma of sweet flowers and oranges. When it hits the mouth, the first thing you taste is the pleasant caramel malt. Briefly. The hops explode in the mouth in a riotous profusion of hop bitterness that soon causes the lips to tingle as well. It’s got a nice long bitter finish that leaves the mouth watering for more. I’ve got to try this brewery’s IIPA, too.
