A pale ale hopped to the extreme! This beer starts out as a nice pale ale until it reaches the kettle. Throughout the course of the 90 minute boil four massive hop additions are made which transform this beer into a hop-head's dream come true. Both Chinook and Tomahawk hops from the Yakima valley are added in extreme quantities for the maximum bitterness, flavor and aroma.

Very oily and resinous body. Some light two row malt hints with a big high alpha bitterness. Clean and floral nose with no defects. The chinook is very prominent. Smewhat oily on the finish with good lingering bitterness.

UPDATED: MAR 23, 2005 Clear amber body with a frothy white head. The aroma was citrus peel, hops, grass. Light to medium bodied, gentle carbonation, smooth texture. The flavor was refreshing and rewarding. This was a good IPA.

UPDATED: OCT 14, 2006 12 oz bottle via liquid Solutions. Pours a hazy copper with a good size white head. Nice orange/grapefruit/pine aroma. Very hoppy taste starts with orange, then pine and ends with grapefruit. The malts are barely discernable but they are there. Lingering bitter grapefruit rind aftertaste. BITTER...BITTER..BITTER GRAPEFRUIT RIND......A very good ipa IF YOU LIKE THE GRAPEFRUIT RIND.

On draft at Dicks Brewing Company. This is a good IPA. Decent amber color with ok off-white head. Has a good hop flavor and as it lingers you get a bit of the malt. Very drinkable and could be an everyday IPA. Unfortunately, itís not distributed where I live.

UPDATED: MAY 12, 2008 soft creamy malt backbone allows for the sharp piney bitterness to shine through. loads of hop flavor, balanced enough where you can enjoy the sustained bitterness.

Pours a clear copper with bubbly effervescence that piles up a off white head. The aroma is grapefruit hops, orange rind and vague malty sweetness. The taste is a load of straight up bitter grapefruit hops that attack right from the get go. A tasty pale maltiness wells up about midway but quickly succumbs to the grapefruit hop bitterness. The malts are simply out numbered here. They did put up a worthy battle. But in the finish and into the after taste the hops hold strong with citrus bitterness.

A nice session IPA if you will. Grapefruit and citrus zest dominate an orange/copper flavored brew. Good head retention. Well balanced with enough hop bite to satisfy, but not too much alcohol to enjoy repeatedly.

22. Pours crystal clear coppery medium amber. Thick, sudsy white head with streaky sedimentary lace. Bready, yeasty nose, with some dark, woody, piney hop notes. Medium body, a bit of lively carb. Woody, resiny mid-palate over a bit of biscuit. Longish resiny finish. This is a solid effort--certainly not amazing, and not the first flavor profile I would reach for (so much wood). But itís tasty and refreshing, and offers a nice dark bitter option amonst all the bright fruit and pine.
