Angeloregon (1464), Portland, Oregon, USA Jun 2, 2008 From a 12 ounce bottle poured a dark reddish hue with a very small white head. Nutty, caramel, sticky and slightly hoppy nose. Well carbonated. Very creamy and toasted. Quite Englishy. Pretty good, but not great. Skyview (2637), Papoose Jct., Minnesota, USA May 26, 2008 Received a 12-oz bottle via trade with 5000. Pours a clear reddish brown brew with a thin off-white head that quickly dissipates to a thin ring. Aroma of caramel malt, a touch of roasted nuts, some floral and grassy hops and a touch of pepper. Taste is light to medium bodied, some carbonation with flavors of caramel malt, grassy hops, iced tea, and some tart berry character. Finish is semi-dry with a soft carbonation then a clean cut aftertaste with no bitterness. after4ever (1628), Brier, Washington, USA Apr 7, 2008 12-oz. Pours crystal clear ruddy dark amber with a thin off-white head. Oddly bold malt-sour, roast, and iced tea nose. Medium body, lively carb. Iced tea, roast, toast, and peppery hop on the mid-palate, settling out into a tingly peppery hop finish. Definitely too much on the tea side, but has a little bit happening in the way of full flavors on the mid-palate and the finish. Suttree (2237), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA Nov 27, 2007 I’ll be honest with you, I don’t really get Irish Ales. I had this right after Dick’s Amber and frankly would’ve been had pressed to tell the difference. Not that it was bad or anything, it seemed, you know, kinda pointless. Indiana_Red (1440), Boise, Idaho, USA Nov 21, 2007 Bottle Pours a clear tawney residh brown witha very large fluffy off-white head. Lots of clinging chunky lacing. Slightly off stale paper malt aroma with a sllight hint of bitterness. Wody lightly carmelized malt flavor with aa paper slightly sour trailer. easy on the bittering but just enough pucker at the end. Not quite in a good way though. Nice body, not too thin and soft carbonation. A quaffer I suppose, but not particularly interesting.
