COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Deep and toasty, yet drinkable red ale. Lots of specialty grains in the mash really make this beer. Well roasted Munich malt and rich caramel malt contribute depth and richness of flavor, good body and mouthfeel, and a beautiful red color. We then add a melanoidin malt which is what gives the Irish its unique "toasty" flavor. English style hops and yeast make it a favorite with everyone.

Draught @ the brewpub. Pours a clear amber color with a small off-white head. Has a malty caramel aroma with some weak hints of hops. Sweetish malty slightly fruity caramel flavor. Has a sweetish malty caramel finish with some hoppy hints.

(draft) Clear, light-copper body, off-white head. Aroma and taste are both moderately sweet, caramel, roasty/peat. Light-medium body, clean and crisp. Excellent for style.

Aroma of malt, maybe a bit of yeast. Or not. Amber color with a decent off-white head. Not quite medium bodied. Starts malty. Perhaps a bit of stone fruit character. There is some bitter, might be the hops are fruity. Finish is light caramel malt with light fruit and bitter.

12oz bottle. This one initially poured all head (off white). Settled into a medium orangish color. Aromas of roast, caramel, and had a fruitiness. Tastes of roast and caramel. Fizzy and lively body. Boring.

Glowing deep orange or pink, perhaps. Generous sandy colored head. Smells of rich caramel malts, apple crumb, tastes very similar... apple and pumpkin bread. Refeshing and slightly sour with one bad off flavor, something metallic.

Bottle. Pours an amber body with an off white head. Dry herbal hop toned body with a mild metallic note. Herbal earth and toasted malt tones, a mild drying finish. Rather lackluster and average.

Copper bronze color with a white head & light lacing; low carbonation. The aroma is nicely hoppy with some apricot citrus & a sweet caramel overtone. The flavor is tangy, light caramel and hoppy. Finishes medium bodied, balanced, refreshing. Definitely conjures up some Irish pub memories.

This pours an impressively large, sustained head for the style. The body’s a slightly hazed amber with plently of small bubbles springling to life and racing to join the head. The aroma, however, is somewhat lifeless, generic malt, chopped nuts, and an earthiness. Tastes better, sweet and malty balanced by a squirt of lemon and a growing earthy/herbal/tea-like bitterness. Not bad at all.

Received a 12-oz bottle via trade with 5000. Pours a clear reddish brown brew with a thin off-white head that quickly dissipates to a thin ring. Aroma of caramel malt, a touch of roasted nuts, some floral and grassy hops and a touch of pepper. Taste is light to medium bodied, some carbonation with flavors of caramel malt, grassy hops, iced tea, and some tart berry character. Finish is semi-dry with a soft carbonation then a clean cut aftertaste with no bitterness.
