Commercial Description:
Dark and rich, a palate-full of deep, malty flavors. A multitude of malts and hops make this beer so special. The mash includes a good helping of caramel, chocolate and black malts. We add plenty of Magnum hops to balance the malty wort and two additions of Mt. Hood hops for lots of hop flavor and great aroma. Our porter is a traditional full flavored English style porter with a dark brown, almost black color, lots of body and smooth drinkability.

12 oz bottle from Market of Choice. Pours deep brown with red tinge, two finger tan head and lots of solid lacing. Aroma is light caramel and chocolate and a quite a bit of roasted coffee. Flavor is also light caramel and chocolate with a big but thin coffee taste with some nice roastiness. A little thinner than I’d like, but a decent porter all the same.

Pours dark, with a tan head. Tastes dark and somewhat bitter. Smoky roasted malt taste, with notes of dark coffee. Not my favorite porter, but a thumbs up nonetheless.

A little bit of red tint if the light catches it right. Smells sweet and tastes smoky. Fairly thin and traditional-tasting porter. Finishes caramelly sweet.

I wasn’t expecting a lot from this brew, as we had it sitting around in the beer fridge for quite some time. Surprisingly, it was a solid Porter with a little sweetness to it. Pretty damn good.

Bottle thanks to BrewDad. Poured into my new SA Chocolate Bock glass! Pours a dark brown color with a medium white head. A rich malty nose with lots of sweet roasted notes and caramel. The flavor is very nice; sweet caramel balanced by a roasted chocolate malt. Very smooth and balanced. A good hop presence as well.

On tap at the brewpub. Pours a dark chestnut brown with a medium ivory head. lots of tiny carbonation bubbles. Really good creamy and fizzy palate combination. Great chocolate flavors with a slight amount of anise. Very nice because it has lots of lactose sweetness to it.
