masonjer (384), Lansing, Michigan, USA Jul 1, 2008 Thanks to brewdad for giving me a chance to try this. Poured an opaque black. Aroma was faint chocolate. Taste was straight forward, some chocolate and a quick finish. This was fairly thin and weak. BOLTZ7555 (401), Phoenix, Arizona, USA Jun 14, 2008 Average porter...perhaps a bit below. Subtle aromas indicative of the style. Coffee and chocolate on the palate, along with lingering bitterness and chalkiness. Quite thin. Davecooks (1126), Bay Area, California, USA May 20, 2008 Bottled. Pours a very dark garnet/ black color with a light ivory head. Sweet, caramel and chocolate aroma. Fruity and sweet. Lots of chocolate character. A somewhat chalky, chocolate flavor. Pleasant bitterness. Lingering flavor. ratman197 (2150), Arvada, Colorado, USA May 16, 2008 Bottle poured a clear dark brown with red highlights and a lasting tan head. Aromas of cocoa, coffee, light carmel and hints of vanilla and smoke. Palate was medium bodied and smooth. Flavors of coffee, mocha and a hint of smoke with a smooth lingering bitter finish. Bradrcr (519), Renton, Washington, USA Apr 28, 2008 4/6/08 On draught at the Budd Bay Café. Aroma is light chocolate with some caramel sweetness, blended in roast character and light PNW hop flora. Appearance is copper brown with a moderate maintained off white head and good lacing. Flavor is rich with sweet caramel, light roast sourness, and low but noticeable bittering. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with a low carb feel and medium creaminess. Overall, quite good, very easy drinking, and it’s just refreshing to try a porter for once that starts where browns leave off rather than pushing the limits of a stout.
