Bottle: Poured black with brown edges, head was beige cream. Aroma was sweet malt and chocolate. Taste is rich and gritty roasted burnt chocolate and malts, finish is palate drying.

Frothy tan head, cola brown, smell is mild grass, chocolate, roast, and dust. Flavor is lightly sweet, chocolate, grass, leaves, hints of candy, nuts and burnt barley. palate has medium-coarseness fizz. Light-bodied.

Beautiful burgandy color with a nice foamy cream colored head. Leaves a nice lace in the glass. The flavor is light with a subtle toasted malt flavor. To me more of an Amber Ale than a Porter. But an overall pleasing drinkable ale.

Way too many hops were added to this Porter. It does not even taste like a Porter. Major disappointment.

12 oz bottle into English pint. My bottle reads 6.2% ABV. Pours what seems like black til its held to the light, after which it exposes brown tints, making it look like root beer. Has a small quickly receding beige head. Aroma is bready and like brownies. Taste is mostly sweet with some hop bitterness showing through. Highly carbonated for the style with a milky mouthfeel; full-bodied. A very good porter that deserves better scores on here.

Shipped to me by my wife on a trip to Portland. Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a very dark brown color with a huge foamy tan head that lingered and produced good lacing. The aroma was moderate cocoa, toasty malts, vanilla and Dr Pepper. The flavor was toasty, malty and sweet with notes of cocoa, vanilla and Dr Pepper. Long finish. Medium body. Well done.

Bottle served in a Guinness pint. Pours dark brown with amber hues. Grey-tan head. The aroma and flavor match. Both are semi-sweet, spicy, and moderately roasty. Not overly complex. Medium body, average carbonation, and a sweet chalky dryish finish. Smooth, sweet, and easy drinking.

Rather sweet porter. Lots of creamed espresso, along with some cocoa. Soft roast. Milky. Zingy hops blend with a bitter-chocolate quality. Pleasant beer, just a little too sweet for me.

Very effervescent initially. Head faded quickly. Drinkable as a porter should be. Aroma was weak, but the best Dick I’ve tasted.

From a bottle. Nice little porter. I have to admit I giggled as I purchased the whole Dick’s line of beer, so feel free to ignore this review... but they do a very admirable job. Very drinkable porter.
