COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
DIEBELS Alt is brewed according to the German Purity Law of 1516. Under this "Reinheitsgebot", only four ingredients are allowed: Barley malts, hops, yeast, and water. The dark-roasted special malt lends DIEBELS its unmistakable amber glow.

Dark and Delicious. For a dark, flavorful beer, DIEBELS is surprisingly light and drinkable - a beer you can enjoy all night long. It isn't bitter like many ales, and it doesn't have the strong aftertaste of certain imports.

On tap at the Alexanderplatz, Berlin S-bahn "station bar" that I can’t remember the name of. Deep bronze body, small white head. Nose is grains, caramel and hints of wort. Taste is more wort, caramel, roasted grains and dark malts. Smooth carbonation, quite filling mouthfeel. Not as "fruity" as advertised on the bottle, but still pretty good.

Bottle from Rewe. Pours a clear, amber body topped with a fluffy, clingy, off-white head. Nice lacing. Aroma of bread crust, light caramel, floral noble hops, and a little metal. Taste brings in some darker bread flavors, a little Wasa cracker, and more light floral hops. Metallic notes are absent here. Medium body trends toward full. Moderate carbonation. Firm bitterness balances the good malt presence. Lightly sticky. Lingering malt. Overall a good beer!

Hey, Alt from a 50cl can. Cool. It pours brown with copper hues and tall creamy tan head. The aroma hints at roasted malts, spicy hops and a touch of caramel. The taste is similar but I think the spicy hops are creating a metallic like note too. Behind the hops are soft notes of malts, roasted malts and some earthy hops.

Vrij zoet, karamel, iets metaligs, daarna bitter. Redelijke frisse doordrinker, maar veel smaakvoller dan pils.
