Bottle. Premium Altbier Grillsaison. Clear amber colour with a nice medium mostly lasting off-white head. Aroma is a bit thin, some roasted malt with roasted coffee and caramell. Flavour of sweet roasty maltiness, medium hoppiness, slight spiciness and some caramel. Dry malty finish with a bitter aftertaste.
3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 BelgianBeerGal (2104) - Dayton Area, Ohio, USA - JAN 25, 2007
50cL bottle. This beer honestly surprised me a little. I was not expecting a dark beer when I poured it. It poured with a medium, fairly white head that settled in average time. Nothing remarkable in the aroma or taste, but it was nice surprise for what I was expecting.
3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 elektrogeist (158) - Las Vegas, Nevada, USA - JAN 2, 2007
Standard german altbier I think, malty and grassy/earthy.. perhaps a bit too old and not kept cold enough from where I got it, I think this beer would taste a lot better at the source and fresh. Definitely worth trying though-if its not been kept refrigerated I recommend leaving it in the fridge 3 or 4 days before drinking.. seems to make a big difference.
2.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 pubbe (493) - Højbjerg, DENMARK - DEC 31, 2006
Bottle. Dark amber with off-white mostly lasting head. Slightly sweet malt. Nice aroma. Slightly metallic in the rather short finish.

[Tasted in 2004.]
When I tasted this brew I didn’t knew the style and had expected a german pilsner or something alike. But I was surprised. The aroma gave me some alenotes of malted bread and flowers with a fantastic brown colour. Caramel flavor and some spices makes this beer something special. A german surprise!
2.7 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 Stew41 (1413) - Woodend, AUSTRALIA - DEC 24, 2006
Very clear dark amber, almost mahogany. No head to speak of. Neutral nose with faint caramel malts. Fairly unremarkable palate with subtle malts that reminded me of those daggy, earthy malts you sometimes see in Bohemian pilsners. Not unpleasant but not great either. Flavours broaden on the finish as some mild caramel kicks in. Good casual summer drinking.
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20 SHIG (2530) - Osan, SOUTH KOREA - DEC 15, 2006
Bottle: Poured a reddish brown with a light brown creamy head. The aroma was that of a dark beer, sweet burnt malt and caramel or toffee. Rich roasted malt flavor with just enough bitterness to make it very balanced.
2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20 dreamboat (186) - Brisbane, AUSTRALIA - DEC 13, 2006
Copper/brown, very bright, moderate carbonation with a coarse head that drops fairly quickly to a thin offwhite covering. Slight roasty aroma. Dull hoppy flavour, with some roast/burnt bitterness also.
