Commercial Description:
DIEBELS Alt is brewed according to the German Purity Law of 1516. Under this "Reinheitsgebot", only four ingredients are allowed: Barley malts, hops, yeast, and water. The dark-roasted special malt lends DIEBELS its unmistakable amber glow.

Dark and Delicious. For a dark, flavorful beer, DIEBELS is surprisingly light and drinkable - a beer you can enjoy all night long. It isn't bitter like many ales, and it doesn't have the strong aftertaste of certain imports.

18 Jun 2005 - (El Paso restuarant- Straelen, Duitsland) - Dry burnt malt aroma. Clear light brown colour,, good head but low lacing. Light roasted malt and low hops flavour. Thin and bitter finish.

Very crystal clear coppery tone. Nice frothy head that etched up over the glass. Sweet nice tasting alt, easily drinkable, but not very memorable as the taste was unassertive. A good "party beer" if that’s your think. I’d rather have Alaskan Amber (an Alt as well) when I look for alt. Good beer tho. Cheers!

Sampled at the Portland International Beer Fest 2005. Pours clear copper with a smooth white head. Malts kinda had a cereal taste, kinda reminded me of frosted flakes. Very smooth body, very light weight on the palate and finishes a touch sweet.

This brew poured a medium copper color with a nice thick head and little moderate lacing. Nice smooth flavor with hints of caramel. Tried this in Germany. Good stuff.

I was able to get this beer in Chicago but it is not being distibuted here anymore. It has a nice malty flavor with a good balance of hops.

This beer has a light brown body - hue apperance and a coarse light brown scum collar. I have drunk the beer from the bottle and it had a lot of carbonic acid. The initial flavor taste is bitter with a brandy afther tast.
