DIEBELS Alt is brewed according to the German Purity Law of 1516. Under this "Reinheitsgebot", only four ingredients are allowed: Barley malts, hops, yeast, and water. The dark-roasted special malt lends DIEBELS its unmistakable amber glow.

Dark and Delicious. For a dark, flavorful beer, DIEBELS is surprisingly light and drinkable - a beer you can enjoy all night long. It isn't bitter like many ales, and it doesn't have the strong aftertaste of certain imports.

Rating from 2.6.2008: Sehr schöner cremiger Schaum. --> 12.65

On tap @ Berliner Republik. profumo abbastanza intenso e persistente. Vinoso, di uva bianca matura, e frutta rossa, quasi di ciliege.

Bottle. Pours a clear deep amber with an off-white head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has a combination of leaves and bread with a backing mustiness. Flavor has same bread and leaves with a bit of grassiness.

Bottle from Mam and Dad’s holiday Dusseldorf, Germany. This is a dark brown beer with malty and nutty flavours, chocolate notes and roasted bitterness on the finish.

Clean beer, meant to be drinkable, sadly this make it a very poor character beer.

Encouraging deep brown colour. Frothy head which disappears very quickly. Sharp fizz, moderately tasty.

Bought a bottle at Bert’s Bierhuis. Has a copper brown color and a cream colored and large head, CO2 level is excellent. The aroma is very fruity and there some tones of liquorice and bread noticable. It’s an easy to drink beer with a light sweetness and bitterness in the end. In taste also tones of caramel and honey. The finish is sweet, dry and has a light bitter which is noticable for a while. Nice beer, which I can compare with Palm Speciale, but this one is better.

Pours brown with orange highlights and a light tan cap. The smell is roasted malt, fruit and a bit nutty. The taste is caramel malt, some fruit, nuts ending dry and a touch hoppy. A fairly sweet beer. Body is an oily light with average carbonation. Actually not too bad for a macro.
