COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
DIEBELS Alt is brewed according to the German Purity Law of 1516. Under this "Reinheitsgebot", only four ingredients are allowed: Barley malts, hops, yeast, and water. The dark-roasted special malt lends DIEBELS its unmistakable amber glow.

Dark and Delicious. For a dark, flavorful beer, DIEBELS is surprisingly light and drinkable - a beer you can enjoy all night long. It isn't bitter like many ales, and it doesn't have the strong aftertaste of certain imports.

Auch das Diebels Alt verzehrte ich im "Schwan", einer Oldenburger Kneipe. Schöne kupferrote Farbe. Malzig-röstiger Geruch. Süßmalzig im Geschmack mit leichten Hopfensprenkeln. Verhaltenes Kaffee-Aroma. Ganz ok. Test vom 13.5.2007, Gebinde: Fass

Clear brown with an amber glow. Nice thick beige head. Aroma of roasted malts, sweet caramel with a toasted bread keynote. Flavour of toasted bread, caramel, malts. Rather bitter finish from both roasted malts and some hops bitterness. (From 500mL bottle)

I’m not the greatest fan of Altbier on draught and this one from a bottle was further down the scale. Reasonable body, not that dark, not that sweet, not that bitter, not that anything really. If all German beer was like this, I’d have stayed home.

Pours a medium, almond head and a copper body. A musky malt nose. Flavours of roasted malt and hops. Carbonated feel. Lacked all complexity. Average but not bad.

0.33l bottle. Pours a clear red/chestnut body with a fluffy white two-fingersized head. Nose is bread, malts and not much more. Tastes really not that nice. Lively carbonated and light-bodied. Really grainy with lots of boiled vegetables, dishwasher water and a bitter, soapy finish. No thanks, this was not for me.

Deep bronze colour, small off-white head. Unremarkable metallic aroma. Slightly sweet flavour. Boring.

Clear dark amber with an off-white head. Aroma is sweet, malty, caramel and light hoppy. Flavor is medium sweet and moderate bitter. The finish is bitter and dry. 091210

Szép sötét rézszínű. Gyenge illattal. Enyhe komló aroma. Közepesen testes, száraz. Egy átlagos kölsch.
