Commercial Description:
DIEBELS Alt is brewed according to the German Purity Law of 1516. Under this "Reinheitsgebot", only four ingredients are allowed: Barley malts, hops, yeast, and water. The dark-roasted special malt lends DIEBELS its unmistakable amber glow.

Dark and Delicious. For a dark, flavorful beer, DIEBELS is surprisingly light and drinkable - a beer you can enjoy all night long. It isn't bitter like many ales, and it doesn't have the strong aftertaste of certain imports.

Caramel brown colour with a small white head. Intense bready malt aroma with some grassy hop notes. Sweetish malty flavour with a little of the grassy hops and some bitterness.

Bottle brown, 330 ml
Appearance: Pours amber - brown clear and gently carbonated body, head is initially medium, slowly decreasing to small with a nice firm crown on the body surface and firm lacing on the beer glass. Head is off - white, slightly beige.
Aroma: Front is gently alcoholic with easily distinguishable notes of caramel, cotton candy, toasted and roasted pure barley grains, chockolate, whipped cream, nuts and chalkyness, slight notes of cherries, plum, raisin, resin, redberry, cranberry, nice slightly earthy, herbal hoppyness, cognac, similar to many Bitters or Premium Bitters.
Flavour: Very strong, focused and highly astringent essential hoppy profile with oncomming gentle alcoholic warmth, crystal malt, caramelly malt, tannin tea like astringent, finish duration is medium.
Palate: Body is medium, texture is dry, carbonation on palate is moderate, finish feel is highly astringent and lightly alcoholic.

Long, smooth notes of solid bitter hopping rounded by pale fruit malty structure. Both refreshing and satisfying. Klasse!!
