detroitsteel (209), Greater London, England Apr 30, 2008 On draft, Berlin. It has a much lighter body than other Alt Biers I’ve drunk, transparent, cola-ish brown. Small head. Usual things going on - dry with plenty of hops, roasted malt and a tar-like, tannine finish with some spiciness. Not bad, but not the best Alt I’ve drunk.

It pours a clean nut brown beer with a foamy tanned head. The nose is leafy, malty with notes of dried fruits, raisins, fudge and hops. A lot of crackers showing up accompanied by cellar-like characteristic. The taste is nicely malty. Leafy, buttery with a lot of fudge. Light bodied. Some almonds and figs. Decent hop presence. Mediocre lacing. Caramel and hop bitterness in the finish- a pleasant combination. Flawless and very nice.
